Join the waiting room. I put my GTPE money down on 9/28/21. I waited four months for a VIN and build estimate of 3/28/22. Then it's mystery transit time.^&%!@!!
Ordered a GTPE on 12/22/21, still not scheduled.
I'm preaching to the choir here, but it wouldn't be so frustrating if there weren't later orders getting scheduled before earlier orders.Join the waiting room. I put my GTPE money down on 9/28/21. I waited four months for a VIN and build estimate of 3/28/22. Then it's mystery transit time.
We’ve known since the job 1 cars (mine) over a year ago that like all other auto manufacturing factories, cars aren’t put in line based solely on order date. They build certain like models together and the order date helps prioritize after it’s time to start the similar models. Not just US mme models either, some are for other countries with different safety and physical options. So worth the wait!I'm preaching to the choir here, but it wouldn't be so frustrating if there weren't later orders getting scheduled before earlier orders.
Yes, thanks for that refresher on Manufacturing 101. That doesn't make it less frustrating to see a car spec'd identically to mine that was ordered after mine get assigned a build slot before mine. We’ve known since the job 1 cars (mine) over a year ago that like all other auto manufacturing factories, cars aren’t put in line based solely on order date. Sorry to hit such a nerve. Location and dealership allotment (101) matter also. They obvi can’t ship one car at a time and dealers are all rated differently as well.Yes, thanks for that refresher on Manufacturing 101. I'm sure you can relate.
I've heard the individual state has something to do with it also, not sure how true that is.Yes, thanks for that refresher on Manufacturing 101. That doesn't make it less frustrating to see a car spec'd identically to mine that was ordered after mine get assigned a build slot before mine.

I hate the dealer allocation system, should be first ordered first built, in a perfect world I guess.Sorry to hit such a nerve. Location and dealership allotment (101) matter also. They obvi can’t ship one car at a time and dealers are all rated differently as well.
Zero Emissions Vehicle (ZEV) states. Basically requires the manufacturer to have a certain percent of cars sold in the state be EVs. There's about 10 states that have these rules, they get priority because if the target isn't met then the manufacturer can get a fine (and/or get a reward, idk the exact rules).I've heard the individual state has something to do with it also, not sure how true that is.
Ordered my GTPE 3 weeks ago and the dealer said flat out 7 month wait.Join the waiting room. I put my GTPE money down on 9/28/21. I waited four months for a VIN and build estimate of 3/28/22. Then it's mystery transit time.
