I too feel lucky in that I ordered a 2022 in October, received a build date of late Jan in early December and my GT was built Jan 31. I read in another thread that dealer allocation can affect the priority an order receives and perhaps that was the case for me because I am fairly sure I am the only person in Fairbanks Alaska to order one. Hopefully your overall process goes a smoothly as mine has!

Join the waiting room. I put my GTPE money down on 9/28/21. I waited four months for a VIN and build estimate of 3/28/22. Then it's mystery transit time.

I'm preaching to the choir here, but it wouldn't be so frustrating if there weren't later orders getting scheduled before earlier orders.

We’ve known since the job 1 cars (mine) over a year ago that like all other auto manufacturing factories, cars aren’t put in line based solely on order date. They build certain like models together and the order date helps prioritize after it’s time to start the similar models. Not just US mme models either, some are for other countries with different safety and physical options. So worth the wait!

Yes, thanks for that refresher on Manufacturing 101. That doesn't make it less frustrating to see a car spec'd identically to mine that was ordered after mine get assigned a build slot before mine.

I'm sure you can relate.

Sorry to hit such a nerve. Location and dealership allotment (101) matter also. They obvi can’t ship one car at a time and dealers are all rated differently as well.

I've heard the individual state has something to do with it also, not sure how true that is.

I hate the dealer allocation system, should be first ordered first built, in a perfect world I guess.

Zero Emissions Vehicle (ZEV) states. Basically requires the manufacturer to have a certain percent of cars sold in the state be EVs. There's about 10 states that have these rules, they get priority because if the target isn't met then the manufacturer can get a fine (and/or get a reward, idk the exact rules).

If I was a manufacturer I might also load those states up earlier in the year, so that I could make sure I was meeting the required goals and identify issues early on so that there is time to correct before the deadline.

I live in one of those states and my car had an estimated del. Date of 3/19/2022 and just updated today to 6/17/2022. I ordered mine back in late July and been in production for 3 weeks.

Ordered my GTPE 3 weeks ago and the dealer said flat out 7 month wait.
