Not saying that at all. Just saying that you’re complaining it isn’t faster than the fastest cars on the road.

Tesla has the fastest production cars on the planet (plaid). There can only be one number one.

The way you complained it wasn’t “faster than a Tesla” made it sound like that’s a low bar to attain. Teslas are stupid fast.
My bad. You’re right again. Teslas are stupid fast.

The OP is asking other owners if they would buy again, so why get upset if they say yes?

I do care about the 5 second limit, I hope that they improve this in the future but I would also buy again given the option right now, for me it checked all the marks and I prefer it for several reasons over Model Y (Looks, Quality, Tax incentive)

There will be many more options in the market coming soon or that already in production (EV6 GT, iX, Fisker) etc, but right now I think its one of the best EV's out there at its price point
Agreed! I love mine & would do it again (might order different options). But the “suck it up” crowd is missing the point. It’s fair criticism, a legitimate issue for some & it’s good for @Ford Motor Company to hear important feedback. I’m hoping for an OTA update.

I would buy again in a heartbeat. I love my car. Honestly I’m more upset about the “upgraded” stereo than the limiter. The car is fast. Is it a buzz kill to have a car that is purposely gimped? Sure, but to me it’s not that big of a deal. I didn’t spend $70k to abuse the car at a track. I wanted a quick around town car and it delivered. I get some people are upset but for me it’s not as big of a deal. Do I want the limiter lifted? Absolutely, but it’s not a deal killer for me

I’ve only had mine for a week and a half but I would buy it again. It’s SO much more fun than my MME 4X and the looks are incredible. In this grabber blue I should get arrested for all the neck injuries caused as I drive by lol

I care about the 5 second limit but also don’t care because I know I have all the power I need. I don’t see myself ever having to pass someone at 90mph. Never had to in my ICE performance cars so I don’t think I will in this either.

The reason I’d like it fixed is so I know it *can* be the fastest it can be. So people here stop complaining, and everyone gets the GT we really want.

And sure, a Tesla Performance model will beat us in a straight line, but most Tesla people think 0-60 is “performance”. Most Tesla people drove freaking Leafs and Prius’ before, so if their new car goes fast in a straight line, it must be the best car in the world, right?! I prefer a car that is FUN to drive on backroads and around curves. It goes fast at a stoplight, too, but I’m not hitting 90 on public roads with stoplights.

I would definitely buy it again. I also want the 5 second limit to be expanded to at least 12 so it can show in the 1/4. But, for a summer/winter all-wheel drive daily driver, it is great! I never tire of looking in my rear-view mirror and seeing people still sitting at the light amazed at how quick this car is off the line. Though I do wish it had some towing ability so I could use it to get my ‘66 to the strip or Watkins Glenn for race days.

Great reminder. Thx

It's almost comical how fast this thing rips away from a stoplight. And the fact that it does it silently must make people even more confused lol

I recently got Mach e GT. I couldn't be happier. The buying experience was great and the car is amazing. The is really BIG and fast. I traded in a 2018 mustang by and a 2015 Porsche booster s. The Mach e GT blows the mustang by out of the water. I never flawed any of my cars so I don't care about the 5 second limit. I always use unbridled mode to drive. The car is scary fast and I hit 105 mph with no problem. I am getting used to drive g a very big car.

Three weeks in and I would absolutely buy my GTPE again. (Caveat: I've never ridden in or driven a Premium/Select, or a base GT, so I have no basis for comparison.)

My assessment is based on the amazing looks (love the "real" grille and the wheels), the around-town performance (the 5-second limit will not come into play during my daily commute), and the phenomenal interior (the GTPE's seats are perfectly bolstered for spirited driving).

ETA: Oh, and the MagneRide suspension! That, above all else, is what sold me on the GTPE as the only MME variant to seriously consider.

That won't smoke a GT500. They run mid-10s at about 132mph. The Etron would likely be faster at very low speeds due to traction. After that, not so much.
Maybe on a prepped surface, but in real world the Audi will be long gone while the GT500 is just sittings struggling for grip and will only claw it back due to the top speed given a long enough stretch of road. The GT500 has serious traction problems off the line on typical non perfect road surfaces.

But in answer to the original op question, would I purchase the GTPE again given the chance it is a NO from me, it certainly works well for what I use it for pottering to the shops and crawling along in commuter traffic, as it is quite and rides well thanks to magneride, but I am in the camp that the interior quality has no place in a vehicle of the asking price and while I didn't get it for the performance based on what marketing had been pushing and what engineering ended up delivering on current form it can not be taken seriously as a performance BEV either.

I am no fan of Tesla so when with it comes to alternative BEV options there isn't a huge amount to chose from at present so it is a commendable effort from Ford and the GTPE will certainly be replaced with another BEV, but when that time comes unless Ford makes serious improvements to the GTPE over the length of my options term I will be spending my hard earn coin elsewhere as letting marketing write checks that engineering couldn't cash leaves me with zero faith that any future products will not suffer the same problem.

I have not gotten my GTPE so I cannot comment on if I would buy it again. However, I am happy with my pending purchase despite some of the short comings.

I pose a question to the forum. What other BEV SUV can you buy that has the looks, features, mileage, etc. for the same price? Hyundai and VW are the only ones in the same price and mileage range. The model Y has better range but it is costly when you load it up. The model X, Volvo, Mercedes and Audi are more expensive. The Mazda and Hyundai Kona are less expensive but not exactly comparable. I think the MME has the best features, range, horsepower for the price. The Fisker seems like it has potential to be a better car. However, I do not even know where to test drive one, buy one and get it fixed.

Interesting that you are comparing a car that starts at $142K vs one that tops out below $70K and whining that the more expensive car is faster. Prestige Audi happens to have one of these in their showroom. Plan on about $30K ADM on this. I know, since when we were there in December for service on my wife's Q5 I asked.

Based on the thread and your complaints, you should sell your car ASAP as others have suggested. Oh, and Prestige also has some very nice Taycans. Perhaps that is more satisfying to you. There is a guy on my street who has one and is very satisfied. Of course, he paid almost $200K for it.

You could get in line for a plaid. Of course, plan on the $20K carbon brake upgrade as the brakes that come with the 2021 model tend to fade or catch on fire when you push this pretty hard. Good luck getting service on this. A good friend is in month 4 waiting for parts so that his Tesla heat pump will work.

You are right. The MME is one of the best options out there. Enjoy yours.

It’s funny how many feathers I ruffled by stating that I thought the 5 second power limiter was a problem that bothered me. That and the 5 visits to the shop for a problem still not fixed. My premise was, I wouldn’t do it again. What I’ve discovered through this thread is how much of a nerve I hit questioning an obvious weakness. What I know is this, Carrol Shelby would lose his $100 off the dashboard in my GTPE at about 75 and that would break his heart.
