First EV, but preceded by three hybrids (2008 Escape Hybrid, 2013 C-MAX Hybrid, and 2020 Escape Hybrid). Loved them all, but the MME is on a whole new plane of existence. It truly feels like the future of the automobile.

Yes the first and I would say probably the first ev I had ever been in that I know of.
Are you able to go to mainland Europe with your car or would it be to much a pain to go over and hunt chargers?

First EV. I've never ran a tank to empty, I've never spontaneously decided I wanted to drive over 200 miles in a single stretch without preparation or planning, I have a garage and I've never enjoyed filling up with gasoline. It has been an easy transition.
My last gas car, every time I started ( had the leaf for about a month) I noticed that oily smell, and anytime I got in a ICE car same thing, it started there was the burnt oil smell...don't miss

4th plugin, 3rd EV. In order:
  1. 2013 Focus Electric--70 miles of range
  2. 2016 C-Max Energi--32 miles of electric only range
  3. 2018 Bolt--238 miles of range
  4. 2021 Mach-E California Route 1--300 miles of range
Nope: Don't dwell on the GOM. I never have--even with the Focus Electric. Once you drive an EV for about a week you get to know how far you can go (just like any car you quickly learn its capabilities).

None of them left me stranded--for any reason.

Also note: None of them AWD and I'm in Michigan. No problems in the snow. (Well ok got the Focus & the Bolt stuck exactly once each but only because I was being stupid LOL in deep snow. In both cases I was able to rock them out.)
How do you dig the Route 1? that's what were picking up, the dealer had a premium and a route 1, both TRON blue, but that 300 miles was hard to say no to.

Aloha,
wanted to start a thread to see who is the first time electric car owners. Did you know what you were getting into when you got your MME, or did you have to do some serious Bill Nye the science guy digging to convince yourself ok, I can do this, this car suffices my needs ( i drive X-miles to work/ I drive From Boston to Seattle 8 times a year). If this is your first EV, what is the first engineering accomplishment to charge the car, for example ran an extension cord from the utility pole, or pulled the whole battery and ran it down to a nuclear submarine...come Friday I'll be picking up my MME (caught between naming it BANSHEE or Andromeda) this will be my 6th EV since Nov 15. Looking forward to hearing from everyone. If this is your "FIRST" how much time driving did you spend staring at the Guess O Meter vs the road, cause now you have a gauge telling you, you have x miles, then you stomp the power, or dive to Denver and you go from 150 miles left to 40 in a matter of seconds.

Steve
I bought a VW EGOLF it was great till it wasn't. It turned into a brick and my wife would no longer drive it so VW let me trade it in for the stocker price and I had already received the $7500. I took the money and bought a GOLF R it was fantastic so much fun

Love it. It isn't the fastest thing but I wasn't looking for that anyway--still looks really cool. (In our case I love the black wheels against the Infinite Blue.)

We haven't road tripped it as much as many on here--our furthest drive with it has been a tad over 200 miles; even then we still had about 40% battery remaining (so well over 300 miles, of course this was summer).

Yes, this is going to be my first EV. I'm so excited!

I tend to buy a new vehicle every 7 or 8 years. Over the past few years, I've considered whether I'd buy one more ICE vehicle; I was most recently looking at the 2022 Golf R since I own a 2013 and love it. However, my wife pleaded I get something a bit bigger this time. That got me thinking and I finally took a real look at the Mach E. I was intrigued when I first heard about it a year or two ago, but didn't think I'd have the budget or appetite for it.

However, those stars did align and here I am. Waiting on my GTPE order, no build date yet.

This is my first EV. I researched a LOT before purchasing so no surprises. I even saw it disassembled on Monro before I got it. I’ll probably get another but I wouldn’t place it above ICE. I will always own another ICE vehicle. and each has it’s own advantages.

First EV of any sort. Only car in the house as well.

Sensed that the EV revolution was upon us but I wanted a mustang convertible for a couple years of fun. Then, Ford announced the Mach E and I put a deposit on it right away. Wasn’t sure if I would actually take delivery a year later, but when the time came we figured, what the heck - let’s go for it. Sold the Acura RDX to my wife’s sister and haven’t looked back.

We love it. It’s great around town. Love the instant torque - I keep telling everyone that if they drive one they’re gonna love it too. We’ve taken three long road trips and besides the extra planning required, ( that’s kind of geeky fun anyway) it’s been great. The next trip will be west. EA’s are a little glitchy but thank god for them - right now they’re the best game in town for the highway. In a few years, with a proliferation of DCFC competition, road tripping will be a non-event.

Still could use a convertible though …..

I really dig how plugshare gives you elevation! took a calibrating trip from a charger (80%) 60 mile drive, 4500 feet of elevation, watch ranged just disappear. That set us up for a drive from Washington state to Denver CO. we charged at 2 truck stops that had 50 amp welder plugs, so preped by making a bunch of adapters.

First EV, and Im really happy about most things with it! Theres some stuff that my ICE Volvo XC90 had that I am missing in this. Using diesel is not one of them. :)

The software needs to be adressed though, at least here in EU. We are so far behind and there are so many bugs. The Fordpass app is a joke at how bad it is.

But it needs to be said again... the core of the driving experience with the MME is excellent and it sure is a looker!

@ARK I found a body shop that does 3D printing...Since you agree "BANSHEE" I asked them if they would pop off every pony, and MACH E badge and put an actual BANSHEE ghost where the horse was, and BANSHEE in BattleStar Galatica font.

My first EV as well. The mme has been a great and fun experience so far. Little more of a learning curve than I thought though
