I bought a 65 Mustang convertible In 2018. It was my “fun to drive” car. Now that I’ve had my MME for about a year, the 65 has lost that distinction. I’ll probably re-home the 65 this summer.

I have never had another mustang owner tell me, "It'S not A mUsTaNg, blah blah blah" it's always been people that have never owned one, so I never thought their comments mattered. All of the Mustang owners I had interacted with, seemed to either really like it or were excitedly curious about it, never hate or grumpy feelings.
You get that too, EVERYONE that says its not a mustang...never owned one, this is my first, and I love how one lady in a mustang convertible said- it looks so muscular, i'll take that!!!

I moved to a very.... umm.... country area. Nearly every day I get someone asking me what it is. I regularly get people say 'It just says GT, what kind of GT is it?" But overall the comments are all very positive. I did get a wave from a guy in a Model 3 the other day and I felt bad because I wasn't expecting it and didn't have a chance to wave back in time. In these parts, an EV is a rare sight.

It's not a Mustang -- it's Tomorrow's Mustang. AND it's an EV! So, both categories of haters fall into the same tank: The Past. From the Stones: "Yesterday don't matter if it's gone."

I think you'll find a whole lot of folks who will talk all kinds of trash on the internet but won't say a word in person...at least not around the owner. Whole lot of keyboard warriors. I've heard only one comment and that was at Discount Tire by a jankety toothed pimple faced kid who said he drove a fox body and wished they didn't call this a mustang. I saw his fox body on my way out and it was a heap. Exactly the sort of person I envision making these comments online.

Nope. There are still haters out there. Many of them have been quietly won over, though.

It has been a while since I heard any "not a Mustang" remarks. In fact, I was recently approached by someone who said he has owned two Mustangs in his life and wanted to know how I liked this one. He was interested in buying one but thought it was still a little too hard to get. I also had a Mustang flash it's lights at me in the oncoming lane and the driver gave me the thumbs-up! So perhaps we have won them over??
The Mach E is my 5th Mustang. I've driven over a half a million miles in Mustangs. The Mach E is, by far, my favorite.

But I've never seen haters. I live in an area where there are so many EVs that another one is just ho-hum. On my cul-de-sac of 10 homes there are 7 EVs, my Mach E, an Audi and 5 Teslas (one is a Plaid). In 10 months of owning the Mach E I've only had a couple of people even comment to me about it and one of them was a writer for a famous car magazine who knows one of the designers of the Mach E.

I have. There are a lot of tourists here, even during the pandemic. Last summer I had the car at a shopping area associated with some high end destination resorts following a meeting for an Ironman branded triathlon. A tourist comes up to me and starts ranting about the car. He was getting angrier and angrier cause he owns a Mustang (so he said any way). I finally asked , “You’re here on vacation right?” He nodded and said yes. I answered, “Then relax dude and chill out.” Got in the car (which is what I was trying to do anyway) and drove off. I have to admit it was a different tourist encounter than normal. Most of those involve a loudly complaining tourist in a grocery store complaining how prices are higher than in Omaha (they are and by a lot) and how “they” are gouging us (no, “they” aren’t).

Literally the only negative comment I’ve heard in almost a year of ownership.

As for the negative forum members, they’ve mostly moved on or given up with the “Not A Mach-E” crusade.

On Oahu (The island containing Honolulu) yes. Here, maybe 12 total. I’ve yet to see one other than my own in a year (outside of dealer’s demo car).

Well I don't know about all haters....but one from this forum is gone after finally being deposed by the moderators. Always being negative is never good for you or those you interact with. If you can never say anything good, best advice is don't say anything at all. Good advice for us all.

Sometimes its a good idea to grab a "hanky" or a "blanky" instead of being like (fill in the name here if you know the "rhyme")

Literally none of the ICE Mustang drivers acknowledge me. I even tried to wave at a guy with a vintage Mustang and he didn’t acknowledge. Some butt-hurt people out there for the silliest reasons.

I own a Model Y and have a Mach e on order as a second EV. There are lots of Teslas around here and we're starting to see a few Mach e's. When I mention to people that we've got a Mach e on order, they're curious and interested. If they know I've got a Model Y they want to hear the comparison in the ride quality. All I can tell them from my ~25min drive on a twisty back road here is that the Mach e had more "road feel". Our Y is a very well built (fit and finish) EV and handles the twisties well. It just doesn't feel like it has the same enthusiasm as the Mach e.

My brother had a '68 Mustang back in '69 and it was a horribly unreliable machine often needing some repair or another. Just sayin'.

I was on Oahu last fall, we rented a Mustang convertible. It was too small to hold much and a pain to get in and out of, I would not do that again.
I did notice about 83,000 other Mustang convertibles there

Coal rollers are coal rollers. Just got coal rolled this afternoon, and I was driving a Ford Expedition. I was quick on pressing the recir button, not sure if I could do the same with the MME... I wonder what will happen after picking up my MME tomorrow... I can probably get away from them quicker in a MME than expedition and leave them in my electron dust (fart noise would come in handy :p) ...
