The only negative comment (which I mean, is a valid opinion), was: "Looks nothing like a mustang.". But other than that, I've had about 15 different times of someone asking me to roll the window down at a stoplight, hanging out of the car yelling praise while I was going down the freeway, or just checking the car out while it was parked and I was nearby watching. (It's not a past time, we just have a lot of outdoor dining here.)

So, I've only had my car for about a week, but I'm in Eastern Washington, where MMEs are *very* sparse, so I've gotten a number of comments, which is weird, since I've always driven boring cars!

To my surprise, they've all been positive. One guy who drives a crap ton of miles asking about what I thought about going electric because gas prices are killing him, and did I enjoy the ride. One saying it was the first MME he'd seen in the wild, he was excited to finally see it, and what did I think, because it was a good looking car.

I've only gotten one "It's not a Mustang" comment, and basically said, "well, do I look like Ford marketing to you? That's their call, not mine. I just like the car." And that was that.

I was pleased to tell them all that so far, I love the car, it's the best car I've owned, but I also don't claim its for everyone.

I was on Oahu last fall, we rented a Mustang convertible. It was too small to hold much and a pain to get in and out of, I would not do that again.
I did notice about 83,000 other Mustang convertibles there
Many years ago when my dad could still travel, my parents came for a visit. My dad looks around on the way to our (now former) house and asks, “Why are there so many new cars here?” “They’re all rentals.” Mustangs Camaros and Wranglers mostly,

Well I don't know about all haters....but one from this forum is gone after finally being deposed by the moderators. Always being negative is never good for you or those you interact with. If you can never say anything good, best advice is don't say anything at all. Good advice for us all.

Sometimes its a good idea to grab a "hanky" or a "blanky" instead of being like (fill in the name here if you know the "rhyme")
Spanky!! Lol

Good guess, but not quite the correct answer. Although "_ _ _ _ _ _ _" probably made that face after being removed yesterday.

Every time we go to Hawaii we rent a convertible Mustang. Have a blast driving it. It holds what we need just fine. And every time I come home, I’m glad to be back in my Toyota Prius or Highlander Hybrid because those are way more comfortable daily drivers. I’m hoping the MME will be a lot more like my Highlander and less like the convertible Mustang.

Maybe it's just my personality, but I wish more people would say they don't like it. I like a challenge, "So umm, what are you driving"?

When someone says they like it, I'm like a deer in the headlights... umm thanks, I guess.

So y'all can tell the haters to DM me for entertainment.

I consider myself to be a "Mustang guy" . . . I learned to drive in one and was sold by the mystique, heritage, and fun of this brand. Later when I had the funds I owned a custom built, Saleen 302 Mustang that was a head-turner and would blow anyone off the line. Even after these experiences I have ZERO problem with MME and totally look forward to owning/driving one (when I finally get it). People with a "not a Mustang" attitude are selling themselves short and needlessly turn away from what, by all accounts, is a fantastic and fresh addition to the lore of the brand. Different, yes . . . "not a mustang", don't believe it!

Anytime Ford posts anything about the MME on Twitter there are loads of “not a Mustang” or “not my Mustang”. I think the car has won over real car people. These “not my Mustang” people are not real enthusiasts. If they were they would appreciate the car for the car. At this point if you hate a car because the Marketing department decided this was the best way to sell, it then don’t buy it.
I also find it funny that Ford obviously believed in this vehicle enough to give it one of their most beloved names and yet the random person on the internet is the arbiter of what is and isn’t a mustang. Not the person whose name is in the Blue Oval.

First, I don't like the word "hater," just like some other words from the same genre it's used to denigrate the other people when one cannot reason. Second, I don't understand fascination with the name. Why would anybody even care what somebody's definition of Mustang is? Ford named it Mustang, it's good enough for me.

I think it's less that anyone cares what they think but the fact that they feel they need to express their negative opinion about something others are very clearly enjoying. They're spreading their negativity into someone else's joy.

"Pissing in someone's cheerios," is the phrase I grew up with.

If all they did was think negative thoughts, nobody would know or care.

So I joined the MCA like many of you to get X plan pricing. With membership came a subscription to the Mustang Times magazine. Every month some beautiful Mustang graces the cover. I have not, however, seen an MME on it. I wonder if/when one will be on the cover and what, if any, response will be.
