I use kick to open on the tailgate with PAAK almost every time without issue. The "sweet spot" seems to be kicking straight in and back out in a particular place. If you look at your license place, divide it in half, and kick under the left side of it, I've had near-perfect reliability. Hope you can get yours all working!
Thanks for the advice! I will try that and try to avoid hitting my shin on the tow hitch receiver.

The only time mine doesn’t work is when I really need it. Like in the rain, or showing it off to someone else. Other than that, it’s good, mostly. Except when FP shuts down. But other than that it’s good, mostly.

I'm a Job 1 stuck in 1.7.1. it's not good enough for me to give up the fob. And I only have one fob.

PAAK has been nearly perfect for me, but I think to a large degree, I've bent to its will. I do all of the following which shouldn't be necessary, but it results in PAAK working almost every time.

1. I keep FordPass running. I'm constantly bringing it up to keep it loaded on my iPhone. If FordPass terminates because it hasn't been touched in a while, PAAK suffers. If it's raining outside, I'll make FordPass the active application on the screen before I head out the door.

2. I keep the phone in my hand as I approach the car or it's in my front pants or jacket pocket. The car should "see" the phone without having my sizable ass in the way.

3. I approach the car at a normal speed. If I run-up on the car, there might not be enough time for the handshake to happen. (This is of course bad in an emergency situation. That's what the gun is for.)

4. When I get in the car, I (try to remember) to put the phone on the wireless charging pad or the space next to it. When there, it always starts. When in my jacket pocket, it usually starts. When in my front pants pocket, it sometimes starts. This usually ends-up with me leaning back hard in the seat after pressing the Power button with one foot on the brake to push myself up enough to get my giant assed phone out of my pocket. (This, I'm also convinced, is what sometimes causes the "half-slide" of the driver's seat into position. I'm putting so much weight against it and bracing my leg to get my phone out that the motor says "nope" before it burns out and just stops trying.)

I realize other people might have absolutely legitimate module problems or there's something up with their phones or there's some other hardware problem. I'm just listing these steps out because they work for me.

I remember an old story about Sylvester Stallone in his prime. He was apparently furious that he had to point the television remote directly at the TV to get it to change channels. He was shouting, "I should be able to point it over here, or over here, and it should be strong enough to change the channel wherever I point it!" He would then make his assistant get fresh batteries to put into it. I just feel reading these PAAK woes that some (not all, not YOU, of course) people are a little like Stallone here. "My phone is in my bag, which is on my shoulder, and yeah, there's a MacBook Pro between the two, but SO WHAT? It's close by. It should know! No, I haven't launched FordPass this week...what the hell for?! It should just work!"

...but like I said, nobody here would ever be like that. Ever. :)

I got the 21P22 is late Nov/early Dec. Not sure I’ve seen a difference. Maybe things are getting a bit better? 21x in December. 12x in January. 5x thru half of February.

Some of that is the iPhone, out of Ford's control. That's also one reason why iPhones get more battery life than Android.

And to be honest I'm not sure how I feel about this discovery.. it's nice that it's reacting faster, but having this present all the time is going to drive, OCD, dramatic me insane:

You can minimize it without hiding it.

I'm curious how people lock their MME? I see lots of references to unlocking and starting, but very few about locking the car after getting out. Does PaaK allow you to just walk away from the car and it locks automatically? Or do most folks use the app itself or the trick where you push the door code buttons?

My current car has the handles that you just need to touch to lock/unlock (when you have a fob in your pocket) and it's honestly one of my favorite features.
I have the lock on walk away set up. I used to have the horn chirp when locked so I knew. Then when I had 21P22 installed, I got notifications on my phone. So I could set up a much softer (non heart attack inducing) notification and could turn the horn on lock off.

I assume you have removed all restrictions from FP? No battery restrictions, no location restrictions, no background running restrictions?

I guess I should point out that for my situation my phone is normally in an ABS holster just forward of my left hip. I often forget to move it from there to the charging pad. The car still starts without fuss. ?‍♂?

Then probably there is another module update needed for your car. Have you confirmed via FDRS you have no open updates?

Johnny, I support myself in your comment becouse it is exactly the same I was going to write but with my bad english I couldn't describe it so well!!..
In the point number 4 I have seen myself reflected as it is jajajjajajja like two drops of water.
Otherwise, any problem that can not happen to me with any electronic device..
I've never used the key, (my wife doesn't either.)always my iphone in my blue jeans bag...
Saludos compañeros.
