Turns out, I remembered my rail car number wrong. They aren't exactly the same, just very close. But no, as far as I have been able to figure out it can't be tracked. My dealer sent me the report and it said it was on Kansas City Southern Railway Co. but I can't find any way to track anything in their system. Back to waiting with no updates or information again.

I'm in a similar boat, so today I tried calling the customer service line 1-800-468-6527 at Kansas City Southern (KCS) and I spoke to a very helpful woman who gave me the status of the rail car that my car is on. In my case I learned that my car arrived into Laredo TX and will head out to Shreveport LA tomorrow (though based on info I could find online about that route I think the actual departure will be Monday). It will then be put on a train to Kansas City MO International Freight Gateway and is scheduled to arrive on 3/11. From there I'm not exactly sure where it goes, though ultimately I think it's headed to Portland OR and from there will head south to my dealership in southern OR.

If you are going by rail, it’s more complicated…

First you will need the rail car letters and numbers. It is on the visibility report or DORA which is from the dealership. You MAY be able to get it from the SVT people but they seem often in a cranky mood and may tell you to get it from the dealer.

There are two major rail companies.

CSX is everything east of the mississippi
UP is everything west of the mississippi

But they all start out on CSX so once they have it in their system they will follow it all the way.

So, how do you track your truck on a railcar?

First and most important. Never talk to live personnel at the railroad! Only use automated phone system. If it attempts to transfer you to a live person please hang up. The railcar information we are provided by is given as a courtesy and if we call live personnel we may lose the access and ability to track.

CSX
1. Call the CSX 1-800-235-2352
2. When prompted for location or weight, press "1" on your phone for location.
3. When prompted for the car initials, say CN (or whatever initials you have) then wait for the next prompt.
4. When prompted for the car number, say 907048 (or whatever your number is)
5. When prompted for next car say DONE.
6. That's it; enjoy your updated status report.

Union Pacific
1. Call UP at 1 800 877-5123 1 800 877-5123
2. Follow phone prompts for Trace
3. Say the railcar number complete and clearly. Example CN123456 all together
4. Listen for your update

NS Norfolk Southern
1. Call 800-635-5768
2. Press 2.
3. Press 2.
4. Enter the letters on the numeric keypad then press #. As in: TTGX will be 8849
5. Enter the numbers then press #. It wasn't taking my voice prompts but typing worked.

I just got my built date yesterday. Went in and checked my modules and the look same as they did two months ago.

Try using the UP trace number and typing in just the numbers instead of reading it with the letters. It worked for mine. Sounds like mine hit the SLC rail yard on Friday.

Is there a reason why a car that's built and shipped would not pull back a window sticker? I have tried several of the routes on here to get a window sticker and even the sales guy at the dealer clicked his link and it wasn't coming up.

I got a call from a dealer less far than my original one who had the identical car some in early and it was available. It's now sitting in my garage... ? So needless to say, I'll no longer be tracking this one above!

Question I can get into the Palsapp ,does it change from anywhere past Kansas City? Per the instructions it says you can track after train and on truck with the Palsapp

I tried calling NS to get a status for the rail car that my MME is on. It sounds like the automated voice says PCON Melvindale, MI at 7:00 AM on March 25. Does that mean that the car is in Michigan and about to head to the dealership? I've been trying to figure this out since I'm flying up there to pick up the car next Friday. It is car number COER900700 Thanks!

2 months ago my car showed in KC on palsapp. Never changed. I picked up my car at the dealership and palsapp still showed in KC. I was able to track it via NC rail to Jacksonville.
