OTA 1.7.1 Stuck, anyone else have issue updating?

Hey fellow Stuckers, quick question/thought: I checked the "Sync Info" section of @tonesto7 's widget and saw that I am running "SYNC4 v4.0.21008" last updated 3/19/2021. Per Ford's website, SYNC 4 cannot be upgraded to SYNC4A.

Does anyone's SYNC Info indicate that they are on 4A? Is it possible that the APIM module can't be updated because Ford's system thinks we are SYNC4 vehicles trying to accept SYNC4A updates? Or are we all just dust in the wind?
4A doesn't show up anywhere in any version numbers or anything. I believe that's just what they call sync that runs on the 15" display in portrait mode.

Starting today, we are testing the fix with a few locally based (Southeast Michigan) Early Access customers. We started with this approach as Ford has a large presence in this area, and needed engineers on site to perform the operation. We are still committed to notifying you once it’s ready for you. Barring any issues that come up in our testing, it should be ready soon.

I’d love to tell you that I have brought my car in and it now updates properly but I have to wait because they are trying it on cars in SE Michigan first and I live in Illinois. Don’t worry as soon as I find out anything I’ll post it. There is one member on this thread that lives in Michigan and I think they are doing his now. I PM’d him with no reply.

Open the sketch app. On the color pallet press the right facing caret. On the horizontal pallet press the plus. On that pallet you’ll find tic-tac-toe and a few other hidden things to while away your time.

I found a feature under Settings/General/Submit Feedback. In there is an option for issues with updates. One for OTA and another for USB. I submitted feedback for OTA updates. A couple hours later I noticed the software update option would now let me turn on updates and schedule updates. I scheduled an update for later this evening. Now I will wait and see.
I submit feedback literally everytime I get home and nothing ever happens

Thanks for the information. I was wondering where tic-tac-toe and the other games were. I thought my car's update was possibly incomplete.

Well, the dealers cannot fix it and they should have told you that at least since February.
Ford is the problem, not the dealer. They can't invent a fix without a procedure from Ford.

Right now, we only have rumors of a fix which isn't confirmed yet. We gotta wait some more.
No it's good that he is taking it in and having it documented in case of lemon laws and such. I am taking mine in Monday knowing there is nothing that they can do, but I want to keep my options open.

Now my auto update button will not stay on. 1.7 failed months ago. Scheduled for 18 module updates on Wednesday that were not updated when I went in February for 21P22. Should I proceed with the updates at the dealer? Should I expect any significant changes?

Did the updates at the dealer, took about 2 hours, nothing changed as far as I can tell, haven't tested the fast charging cut off % (should be 90 now)

I did hear from @suliban that he had the software "fix" installed at his dealer Thursday (3-17) in Michigan. He said it took about 2 hours. They told him he would now receive OTA updates but when he messaged me he hadn't received any. Hopefully, he'll post himself about the experience. I'm still waiting for notification that I can bring mine in.

I have my MME in for APIM replacement at my local dealership. We finally got all the pieces parts in for my Frunk so hopefully its a twofer. He said he'll install the APIM and immediately begin the update process on the car. Hopefully, It'll update before getting "stuck" again. I guess we'll see. At least it's documented that the struggle is real with my dealer. Fingers crossed!!

Sorry for the delay folks. Here is my experience...
Was contacted by Ford's Early Access Program product manager to arrange a time for Ford engineers to come to my dealer and perform software updates to try and resolve the stuck OTA update. A member of their OTA Module Programming team emailed and asked if I could bring in my vehicle last Thursday.

While checking into dealer service, the manager mentioned that he just found out about them coming out the evening before.

I was unfortunately working remote from the dealer waiting area and taking a number of calls so was not able to speak with the engineer as much as I would have liked. I also had to rush out when they were done to get to another meeting.

The engineer came out and said the fix was applied successfully after about 90 minutes and that my vehicle was ready for OTA updates. They said they had performed some sort of test and that it had "checked in". He then said they could manually perform a Sync update or I could wait for it to come down on its own. I told him to go ahead and install the sync update which took about 20 minutes. I also asked if I was now all set to receive the Blue Cruise updates and he said yes.

I now had to rush home for my next set of meetings, but did notice that my settings seemed to be gone. Later found that my profile was gone and that I had to re-create and reset my personal settings and re-link my fob and PaaK on my phone. Only major difference I noticed was that the Notes app was now installed.

Under Sync Info, I now show version 21174_PRODUCT, Revision 168

I am now able to select "Automatic Updates" and set a date/time successfully. Per the Blue Cruise email, I've set my update time for Monday 1:00pm to be during business hours. I have not received any notices of updates since I brought it home Thursday. Hoping they start coming this week.
