have been using 110 V charging in my garage and getting along just fine. Recently, the Ford Pass app posted that "my next chart must be from a high speed charger". Being the skeptical sort, I ignored that msg and kept trying to use 110. Would not charge. When I was down to about 25 miles of charge remaining, I used a fast charger to top off to 80%. I am still not able to add to the charge using 110. Anyone know what's up with this?

I just googled “next chart must be from a high speed charger” and got this page.

Very curious as to the answer!

I'm not sure what's going on in this thread. Can the OP edit the original post to correct the spelling from "chart" to "charge"?
And to include a screenshot of your Ford Pass app giving the error message.

Are you using the provided Ford Mobile charger on the 120V outlet? Do you have a volt meter to measure the voltage of that outlet?

Sorry about the misspelling in the original post. I have not checked the output of the outlet. Do you think that is what led to the message about charging only from a Hi output charger? What numbers should I be seeing when I do check the output?

PPS. I am no longer getting that message but the 120 V outlet is still not providing any charging power.

Hi Bill! Could you please send us a private message with your VIN and dealership information? I would like to look into this fast charge concern for you on my end. Thanks!

I haven't heard of this before, but it wouldn't surprise me that a 110v charger would have trouble with the vehicle's battery. I know when you try to charge something like say an iPad with an iPhone charger, you might just spin your wheels and not get a charge, so perhaps something like that is happening here where 110v isn't giving enough juice for a large car battery.

Even if this can be fixed, I think the better option is to get a 240v plug installed, the 110v is really meant to be more of a temporary thing (like at a vacation home or when you first get the vehicle before the electrician comes).

The message in Ford Pass is what really surprises me. I can understand if there is an error with the on board charger, or the Ford Mobile Charger, but that fact that there is an actual message in Ford Pass, makes me think this is something that is known to be required occasionally? But if so, why isn't there any info about it?

Pretty embarrassing to admit this since there were so many replies and inquiries for more information. However, the problem was the part of the charger that actually plugs into the wall outlet was slightly loose from the body. When I check out at about, blue light came on and everything was Honky Dory.?

That's good that you got charging figured out but still really weird about that notification you got. Did you happen to take a picture of it or anything?

Do you use the bracket to hold it to the wall? That way it doesn't hang by the cord and eventually get loose.
