Hello, I will soon be a Mach-e owner and I was wondering if any of you could give me advice about car insurance. It's looking like it's gonna cost me $2000 to insure the car for the year with AAA. Does anyone have a better insurance company advice that I should go with? Also a little bit myself. I am 26 no tickets, and no accidents in my car history and I am also a male. I will be getting 2022 to select. Thank you for the advice.

Advice? Yes. Don't ask people on a forum about insurance rates, because it's impossible to compare. States differ, companies differ, driving habits, other vehicles, family members, insurance credit score, etc.

$2,000 seems right in line with where it should be. How does that compare to your previous car, and was it $60,000 and brand new?

Agree that it is nearly impossible to compare because of all the variables, but $2,000 seems too much!

I moved to the US in 2018 and had no driving history for the insurance companies to work with. Most of them did not accept my original DL (issued when I was 19) and used the one I got in CA as my "first" DL (issued just a few weeks after I arrived). The highest I had to pay was around $1300 for the year.

My guess is that ultimately the premium was mostly impacted by my gender, age group, and address.

You would need to provide the details of your coverage, location, marital status, etc etc for that number to mean anything...and even then it's hard to compare with others. Your best bet is to just get quotes from various providers and choose the one that makes the most sense for you.

We pay close to $2k just for the Mach-E... Michigan was the most expensive state, now is the second most expensive state.

You can't compare.

RIght inline with mine, but a few bucks more. Two 50 year olds, 21, 23 year old Sons on policy. 100/300, $1000 collision, $250 Glass, No Rental, Roadside, no tickets, 3 glass chip fixes. I recently got a quote from AAA and it was similar. I am with Farmers.....My homeowners is so cheap, I cannot switch.......EVs are expensive to Insure, my 2019 Ioniq EV is $1364 per year. This is every 6 months..... Nice quiet State of Maine too.

When I got my MME I was paying $110/month for full coverage w/comp+collision but apparently due to an "increase in risk" in my area, I got bumped to $220/month on renewal. Tried checking a bunch of other places too and they were high as well.

Its not just about the car or even you as a driver. Its also based on accident rates in your area, stolen car rates, vandalism, etc. The only really helpful answers you'll get will be from people in your city or county as rates vary so much even city to city.

I know you can’t compare, but wow. Mine’s less than $500 a year with two teenage sons on the policy.

There are two ways to save on car insurance now irregardless of your credit or driving record one is ROOT insurance where they monitor your driving for a period of time to determine your rate and the other is MetroMile were you only pay per mile both of these

When I switched my six car policy from State Farm to Root my six month payment went from $4000 to 1200
I went through a month-long evaluation process with her computer chip in my vehicle to get that rate and I drove like a nun on egg shells

Give it a try I saved tons
After two years and one claim I switch to MetroMile for about the same price since they were raising mine. Metro mile is not scary since it totals out at 100 miles a day on one long road trips

Try them both
