Why can't you wait for a special order Mach E?

I am driving a 2019 Alfa Stelvio that I purchased at the end of my lease for a great price. I'm in no hurry for a replacement vehicle. What are the reasons you cannot wait for your car? Do you need a vehicle ASAP or some other reason?

I love new toys too. Buy some electronics. The question was why can't you wait for a new vehicle? No car, lease up, totaled need car, just because I do. Whatever

Why do people wait in a line for four hours at the Apple store to get a phone you can have delivered to your house the next day…online? No line?

Some people are twisted tighter than others. Some need stuff now. Others can wait and not care! Like me!

I bet the latter live longer

I can wait, I just enjoy the waiting when it's something worth getting excited for. I did the same thing 2 cars ago (2012 BMW 650, with a stick. 8 cylinders, two turbos, 6 gears, and only 2 driven wheels out back. Loved that car.)

Did not feel the same with the Tesla (Model 3 stealth Performance)- they had to call to remind me to come get it.

The MME wait now feels like the BMW wait. It's a car I want. Plus, I turned the 3 in two weeks ago and I'm tired of swapping between the grocery go getter and the nanny van. So I'm really hoping they stay on schedule. The CVT is an engineering marvel perpetrated by the devil.

need a car in July. My RT1 December order still not scheduled, but can go down to dealer and get a 21 Gtpe for msrp. Thinking about buying it and then trading it in when my original order gets in.

I waited 4 months then got impatient and bought one off a lot. I’m now at over 5 months and still no production date. I’m starting to wonder if I’ll get a 22 or get pushed to 23. I have a variety of reasons for not waiting, including a 9 year old car that could cause me problems in the next 4-10 months, increasing interest rates and decreasing options on the MME.

Make decisions based on today, not in the future. Chances that your 9 old old car will develop issues are slim to none. It's ok to say you just wanted something new asap. Interest rates, seriously.

If I can get what I ordered now instead of 6 months from now, why not? Six months in EV world is a "long" time. Already the Mach E's 150kw charge limit is on the low end of new EVs coming out.

I wasn’t in a rush and was fine ordering last October and waiting till Spring or Summer. I actually preferred that since I figured Ford would have more of an opportunity to iron out some of the early kinks that will inevitably exist in a new model.
