On Sunday, 3/27, I was out running errands with Stella and stopped back home for a minute. I went to start Stella back up, to no avail. The battery light came on and I researched potential problems on this forum. I attempted the fixes proposed and nothing.
So, I called Ford Roadside Assistance to get a tow to the local Fire dealer and after more than five hours, no tow truck showed up (despite calling Ford Roadside numerous times and them dispatching another driver). It’s not like there is a shortage of tow truck drivers in the Philadelphia area where I live.
So, I called AAA and within 30 minutes a row weighed a and my car made its way to the local dealer.
It’s now Wednesday (3 days later) and I called to check on Stella and they said they had to order an auxiliary battery, but it’s on back order and they don’t know when they’ll get it in. Very frustrating.
Thankfully they finally approved my request for a loaner but, alas, the dealership does not have any loaners available and I have to wait for one to come in.
I am trying to be patient, but I’m starting to lose it and need to remember it’s only a car. Hopefully Ford gets Stella back on the road soon!

Sorry about the loaner issue. Ford should really step up their game here. During my recent service issue I was given an Enterprise rental by the dealer. When the service writer came out to give the the bad news he had the rental guy with him and the rental car was ready to go. It should be this easy every time

Ours has been in the shop for a week and a half now. I got an awesome jeep grand Cherokee from hertz that smells like stale cigarettes. At least I'm not paying for it. Super disappointed with Ford right now. :/

I know this is kind of minor quibbling but my biggest peeve with the Enterprise rentals is Ford classifies the Mach-E as a sedan, so that’s all you’ll get as a rental. I don’t understand why we don’t get cars that are considered SUVs, why do I have to drive around a Nissan Versa while my car that costs 4 times as much as it is in the shop. The F-150 owners get to rent another F-150.

You might want to DM the Ford rep here and see if they can assist. At the very least they might be able to speed up the process of getting a loaner car if you need it.

People don't seem to get that neither Ford, nor the dealer, owes you a loaner car for warranty issues.

Whether or not they are legally obligated to provide one, providing a loaner is the ethically correct thing to do. If I’m paying $55k for a new car, I shouldn’t need to keep a backup car just in case Ford’s screwups land it in the shop for a month. A few days is one thing; 3+ weeks is unacceptable.

Mine has been in since the 16th for the windshield/roof/software update at Ford Lincoln of Queens. They were nice enough to give me a 2021 Nautilus as the loaner.

Same with me waiting for a tow truck. Left me stranded for 8 hours before a tow truck picked it up.
Took a whole month and a few days to get back

Best of luck to you and keep us updated

No, they are required to give you a rental, paid for by Ford, for the roof and windshield recall.

Completely agree. I've got a BMW (which cost me quite a bit less than the MME) and every time it goes into the shop for longer than 2 hours I get a complimentary loaner. And they almost always give me a model "up" from the one I have...I know, I know, they're trying to get me to upgrade. But it's also really good customer service and it's honestly one of the things that is giving me the most pause about switching to Ford.

The Enterprise guy that brought my rental Camry out said he brought the Camry because it was the most efficient model they had on hand, the only other choice he said he had was a Ram ?‍♂

Good afternoon! Could you privately message us with your VIN and the name and location of your preferred Ford dealer? I'd like to assist with this concern you're experiencing. Thank you!

On the Ford Roadside Assistance issue, notwithstanding my complaints in response to the survey they sent asking about my experience, I’ve heard nothing.
Stella unfortunately is 2 weeks in the shop. Apparently the 12v auxiliary battery is dead and they are “on back-order”. The guy at the service center has been great keeping me updated with “nothing new to report”. Hopefully, the battery comes in in the next day or two and that corrects the problem.
I did get a loaner car about 5 days in and it’s a 2020 Ford Escape hybrid. Meh…. But it’s drivable. I totally agree that if I have a 2 month old car that is sent into the shop for nothing caused by me a loaner should be provided.

I would take the Ram, but then again I already have one! Lol Taking the car in just gives me an excuse to drive it more!
