It also says it will use your pre-existing, permitted 240v circuit. That tells me "includes installation" means they just screw it on to the wall and plug it in.

There are two plans, equipment only ($31) and equipment and installation ($38)

" Installation and permitting of required 240-volt circuit "

Do you know that for sure? I just read their website and Q&A and it mentions a tarrif for peak times but no mention of a kWh tarrif off peak.
The power company would go out of business on this deal if it was unlimited charging at $0.00/ kWh during off peak hours.

Not really. I think FPL's off peak rate is under $0:04/kWh. If they have surplus at off peak its actually a good deal for FPL. You would need to drive 3,000 miles a month before it was an issue for FPL.

Free nights and weekends. My math tells me over 800 miles a month and I will come out ahead.
Yeah I'd rather have the freedom to xho

It's called a loss leader, they get you signed up and as time goes on rates rise and benefits decrease but almost 90% of any subscription customer just continues on like a frog in a slowly warming pot. FP&L stands for, "First Profit, & Looting!

The fact they are limiting it to one EV suggest the off peak charging is free.
The fact is very....... ambiguous....

Can multiple EVs use the charging equipment?
At this time, we are limiting usage of the charger to a single EV. As a future option, the company is exploring a provision for customers with multiple EVs.

Then you get this

What if I get a new vehicle during the ten-year term?
Customer vehicles are not linked to the charging equipment, so purchasing or leasing a new EV during the subscription term would not affect the customer’s participation in the program.

What??? So does this mean it will not be a dual lead charger or it will not "know" whats plugged to it?

Will customers who are part of FPL EVolution Home pay less, on average, for power during off-peak hours?
When calculating total monthly energy consumed and taking into account typical driving patterns, customers enrolled in FPL EVolution Home and using the provided FPL EVolution charging equipment will receive an average lower rate than customers not enrolled in the program, due to the decreased rate used for off-peak hours.

Ehhh....

IF its free off peak charging with a ten year term there wouldn't be a rate rise.

They are basically financing the charger and install over ten years which probably works out at around $15 per month. The other $23 per month is giving the customer unlimited free off peak charging, which is currently under $0:04/kWh, so unless the customer uses over 600kWh a month its in FPL's favor.

Not how my bill goes.

My bill has gone up about $30 a month since getting our BEV. So if the BEV kws are removed completely it would be a win. If they just reduced to a lower charged rate it would be not so good.

I’m just reading what it says. It doesn’t say unlimited free off-peak charging. I’d verify it before signing up. Even if it does, it still seems like pricey.

Yeah I agree. Doesn’t say “free.”

Says “Increase your savings — Reduce the cost of charging with unlimited off-peak charging on weeknights and weekends.”

“Reduce the cost,” isn’t the same as eliminating the cost.

Basically you could do the same thing by joining the “off peak” program and programming your car to only charge during those hours.

The writer who did the FPL page probably got his chops working for Pfizer.

The Wonders of Nuclear Power.....cheap power. My off peak option is $0.17/KW and Peak $0.25. That's what happens when you shut down all nuke plans, rely on Gas fired plants and Solar. Maine tout's they have "greenest" grid, all at the ratepayers expense.
