This is unreal...driving on the highway and the passenger door decides to open itself! This is an ongoing sensor issue but now local dealers can take the car in for a month. There are plenty of instances where people have had the door fault warning and apparently its a door sensor. But has anyone else had the door actually open on its own while the car is in motion? We have had the door open twice previously while the car was parked. @Ford Motor Company you guys really need to be looking into this...what if someone falls out of the car because the door opens on the highway or the door flys open due to wind pressure and causes an accident? And to top it all off I can't get an appointment with a Ford dealer for a month because qualified techs are in short supply???

No door issues on ours in 15 months but I'll ensure everyone is buckled in!

Wow, that's super scary and insane. I've just had a weird one where I went to open the driver door in my garage, pressed the button to open it, and the door didn't open but my lift gate did!! So I ran super quick when I heard the beeping to make sure it didn't hit the wall (it was clear, but sometimes I get too close). Not even sure how that happens!

Sounds like a software bug. I think a bunch of bug fixes are coming in the fall now that OTA is working. Glad no one fell out!

Please also report this to NHTSA, doors opening themselves while driving is a major safety issue since an occupant could fall out.

Holy crap.
if that Is some sensor/computer issue that opens it while you’re moving Ford has a big problem. That’s scary.
I would appreciate it if you get in touch with the Ford rep who trolls these posts and update this as you get information on it.
I have two on order I have sold two at profit avoiding Giving them back to the dealer on lemon law I am a huge Ford guy A plan 40 years lots of cars but that may be a dealbreaker going forward. I don’t trust they have a good handle on how to handle the sensors and the computers and electronics on this car. Plus the voltage and battery issues. And the OTA mess plus the windshield.
I remember about 20 car introductions at Ford and I was involved in about 10 of them and I don’t remember any of them being as chaotic as this. For the Taurus we had complaints about the seeking radio not seeking good enough and that was about it

And the dealers are even worse. Most are not investing in EV like they should

First time I’ve heard of this happening. I’d be forcing dealer to fix or having Ford make it happen for you.

We’ve had this for about 4 months and generally it’s been great. Stupid quirks that need fixing like Sirius presets changing, profiles getting mixed up, other little stuff. But as a whole the car is awesome. This door sensor is crazy. There needs to be a fail safe on the electric door openers.Their programming team needs better oversight….

I hope your experience is better than my first two job one productions a premium and a GT performance.
Both Bricked and were in the shop for over 40 days. I sold the GT after three months it took them 45 days to get it on the road I sold it independently rather than taking their buy back offer and the poor bastard paid six grand more than sticker.
We kept the premium for another two months and it bricked again on vacation we had it towed to a dealer in California they could not got it running Ford paid to ship it home to my house and I sold it the next day for five grand over after The buyer agreed to accept it after the dealer repaired it which freaking amazed me That Process took 40 days

I love the way the car drives ….when it drives

I’ll likely stick with my two orders and give them the same chance I gave the last two.

My Maverick hybrid pick up for 30 grand gets around 45 miles a gallon and has been absolutely perfect for almost 6 months.

Fall is too late. They need updates that fix these things fast.

Great suggestion! Just completed the complain form.
Good work.

Question: have you had 21P22 updates done yet? Those included door module updates which may possibly help.

Um, no one should fall out if they are wearing a seatbelt... and I've had no such issue in the year I have had mine.

My dogs don’t fit well in seatbelts, unfortunately.
