AC Controls are dumb

No trunk access hard button. I hate that if I'm seated in the driver's seat and someone is going around back, in order for me to open it for them without them fishing around for the little button, I have to dive in multiple menu levels to hit an access trunk button. It should be a hard button next to the headlight switch.

Glitchy Sync software. While it does the job, there seem to always be SOMETHING about the interface that isn't quite working right today. And its sporadic.

The 5 second throttle kill

There might be a workaround for this, but I haven't found it. If someone is seated in my passenger side rear seat, they can't open the door unless I open mine first.

The B&O system is aptly named with those letters because it stinks

The charge door doesn't always open or close when you press it. Sometimes it flings wide back open or doesn't want to open no matter where I press it. I get lucky and get it on the first try, but not often

Tic Tac Toe is boring. I can't believe this actually made it past the drawing room floor to pass off as "entertainment"

I wish the seat went down just a tad further

No heated seats in the back on a 70k vehicle is a crime

None of these are deal killers, just things off the top of my head. I still love my car, but these things annoy me

  1. Weird unlocking sequence when trying to load the trunk first and then enter the car. When I open a trunk, load it, close it and try to open a driver door right away it does not work right away. I need to try several times to have it open. I already discussed this annoyance in a different thread. Somebody suggested me a walkaround - always hit the driver door button first and then open the trunk.
Interesting. I do this twice a day on work days, to and from work without issue. Open trunk, put in bag, close trunk, go and get in the driver's seat. I don't recall this ever not working in six months. FWIW, I use the fob and have Keyless Entry turned on. I usually can kick to open the trunk, but kick-to-close is flaky.

The cigarette lighter sockets are also good to have for future compatibility. USB A is already phasing out. USB C likely will at some point as well (unless the EU's newly passed standardization requirements stop all future innovation). Not to mention changing requirements of power that devices need. Plugs for the 12V sockets are cheap and replaceable when standards change. Being stuck with nothing but outdated USB ports would be a nuisance.

One month in, the things that I notice the most are the lack of entertainment options while charging, and the ridiculous charging door.

If I use the fob or the phone to unlock it then everything works fine. But why do I have to use It if I don't have to do it when I go straight to the driver seat without opening a trunk. It is just a little weird and annoying

Lack of a remote frunk release is a major annoyance ?
True… to compound to this, the key fob is too bulky so I couldn’t carry it anyway.

What I’d really appreciate though is a power opening and closing frunk a la Lightning / R1T. Opening and closing the Mustang trunk requires clunks and bangs that are anachronistic to the futuristic nature of the rest of the car! ?

Biggest gripe for me is that there is no custom / individual drive mode to let you pick and chose between the various presets that is common among other manufactures.

I live in a hilly area so want minimal lift off regen so have to switch to whisper as the other drives modes require me to drive down hills as the lift off regen is far to aggressive while whisper is just the right and amount of regen to maintain speed while still getting the benefit of regen and while the softer suspension of whisper is welcome, I prefer the throttle response mapping of engaged and the steering weight of unbridled, the steering feel is already a weak point on the mach-e the lightness of whisper just makes is even worse.

As this is really a simple software fix the option to do it should really have been there from the get go, not a massive deal breaker, but it does mean that my original must haves for a BEV has gone from having adaptive suspension to also requiring an independently controlled lift off regen so any future BEV purchase will need those to even be considered.

To clarify, I meant I use the fob instead of PAAK. I don't have to hit the buttons on it for the doors to unlock when I'm nearby.

To clarify - I have both paak and fob in my pocket. The car was locked automatically after I left it.
I Approach the car and open a trunk. Then close the trunk and go to the driver's door. Press the open button - nothing happens. Press again several times and at some point it does open.
There was a thread about that and people tried to convince me that it is not a bug but a feature.

My minor annoyances
  • If I leave the trunk open for a while (unloading things) and then close and walk away many times the auto-lock does not work (with PAAK)
  • Lack of hidden keyhole - when your 12v battery dies you will wish for it too
    • and on that note, 12v battery access is ridiculous (and yes I already drilled the holes)
  • AC on lowest setting is still to high - vents on driver side imposible to point away from driver
  • Wireless Android Auto takes to long to come-up
    • If my wife (iPhone) and Me (Android) are in the car, and even do I have setup my phone as the preferred one, her phone sometimes wins...
  • Only 3 Profiles
  • It bounces to much on uneven roads
