My hand at 12oclock is a pain for me as well. Kinda my go to position for long stretches. I'm slowly learning to not do it

Ha ha ha ok well yes. You obviously can just put your hands on the wheel anyway... I guess I was just speculating that someone might get tired of the eye nanny.

But TBH I'm sure sure why I thought of that since I'm not in that boat. Guess I just like stirring the pot? ????
Blue Cruise functions the same when in a "hands free zone," vs. when not.

Or you could just keep your hands on the wheel when "hands free mode" is on. The car isn't going to yell at you "hey get your stinkin paws off the wheel!!!"
Really? Really?

It's "take your stinking paws off the wheel, you damn dirty ape!"

Just something interesting I've noted with blue cruise. Should you be in a situation where you want to go back to normal "hands on" lane centering... You basically can't.

In the driver assist menu you can have lane centering with hands free turned on or off. There's no option for Hands on.

On the connected services page it says "To disable Ford BlueCruise, go to your in-vehicle Connectivity Settings." But there is no toggle for Blue Cruise specifically. So the only way is to turn off ALL vehicle connected services

I'm not really interested in going back to hands on mode myself... But just kind of interesting to note
I agree, I have the software on the car but not activation (as of yet). so I have no lane keep assist feature. So here is the scenario we are going to face in one year. The free one year is up so they shut off Blue Cruise if we decide we don't want it. However, the lane keep assist funtion is now gone once you've installed Blue Cruise. I hope Ford has thought this through. Could be a mess in one year!!!

You should still have hands on lane centering even without activation. If you don't have lane centering that means the updates were not applied correctly ?.

I'd recommend doing a PMI and update if available on all BC related modules

The positioning of the sensors means you can’t drive with your hand at 12 o’clock on the wheel, which is where I like to keep my hand when I’m just cruising on the highway.

Ford’s horrific placement of the sensors encourages less safe driving habits as a result. If nothing
I am just here thinking that the sensors for Super Cruise are literally on the top of the steering wheel. So if you're holding the steering wheel at the 12 o'clock position you will be blocking it either way.

There are no Blue Zones near me. I also have BlueCruise via the EA OTA. If I engage ACC the car will turn on the hands on bubble along with a message reminding me to keep my hands on. All well and fine. It seems to track the center of the lane better now as well (For me. YMMV). If, however, I drive with my left hand on top of the steering wheel with the wrist and forearm blocking the eye nanny, it will complain. While I don’t drive like that often, I do upon occasion. Perhaps stretching my right arm or doing something on the main screen. Good news is that as soon as you unblock the IR camera it goes back to normal and stops bitching at you. I suspect what I have is what it’s going to be like when BC subscriptions drop off for some.

In the MD-11 we called the aural warnings Bitchin Betty.

According to the Dealer and Ford Co. the instillation was done correctly......for what ever that is worth. Waiting for a call back from Ford on my ticket

Do you know this for sure? Mine was the same way at first (BC installed, but not activated). And I had no lane centering (blue bubble). I only had the left & right vertical bars for lane alert, and adaptive cruise to maintain a distance from the vehicle in front of me.

I am guessing that ^^^ is what you'll revert to if you don't re-up your paid BC subscription when it comes due.

100% sure! Having done the installation myself... For about 3 weeks I had the software installed, had the hands-free option in the sync screen, but no activation.. my line centering worked the entire time even without hands-free

What about when the trial period ends and someone chooses not to renew?

...
The Mach-E will return to the factory on its own, while you are sleeping, without saying good-bye.
