Fast (level 3) chargers in northern parts of lower Michigan, the UP of Michigan, northern Wisconsin do not exist.

I mean I want to believe that, but Ford built EVs in Michigan from 2012-2018, and GM built the Volt here, and builds the Bolt here. GM did "sponsor" this J1772 in Houghton, so I guess they did build some infrastructure after all...

I really hope so. I'm tempted to start a letter writing campaign (I mean maybe a Twitter campaign, it's 2020 after all) to hopefully get even some hotels to put J1772s in. Only the Hampton in Sault Ste Marie has J1772, the Quality Inn in Escanaba and the Adoba in Naubinway have Tesla Destination Chargers, which are great now in my Model 3 but won't help when the Mach-E arrives.

Great idea. I think you'll have the most success with the newer, modern brands like Aloft, Moxy, Tru and Unbound. They are looking to make a name for themselves and pivoting models to younger business travelers who are likely to be stronger BEV adopters.

Oh I agree, unfortunately there really aren't any of those up here. Most hotels are *quite* old and of the "low/mid range" Super 8/Comfort/Quality/Ramada flavors.

You can use the Tesla destination chargers with you Mach E if you obtain a "J-tap" adaptor. I have one and used it a few times on my CMax Energi.

Gaylord just installed 2x 62.5kW ChargePoint chargers like two months ago? So did Cadillac.

I really would rather they have announced this at the Marquette or Sault Ste Marie Meijers instead of immediately doubling up on DCFC locations in some towns.

Allen Park makes me very happy though. I don't have L2 at home and don't plan to add it, so for times I need to top up faster than L1, 2 miles away to Allen Park will be awesome
