I just did them and my range went up a bunch, which is interesting as my driving history doesn’t appear to be reset. Also, when I finished and was doing self tests, a GWM update became available that I did. That could have been the one that did the range change, as that’s when I noticed it, after the USB update was finished and I had to open and close the door.
Interesting about GWM. I wonder if that just popped up today. I don't have my FDRS laptop with me so I can't check until I get home. I noticed that after I ran the HVAC update the intelligent range program became activated. I assume that was just coincidence.

How could you tell that intelligent range became active? I thought it was survey side and you can't trust what the EAP says on the website as @benk016 said they're not linked, so what shows on the site doesn't mean your car actually has it active yet.

That’s exactly why I assume it was a coincidence. It had yet to show as an active product until 5-10mins after updating HVAC. I didn’t think anything of it until I saw your range boost comment.

Hopefully this means Job 2 2021s are finally getting SYNC'd up hahaha with Job 1s?
I have a feeling Early Access Job2 cars will see this as an OTA soon. Followed by a Sync update shortly after that.

GWM shows up for me also but only after a connected network scan. It must have been added today.

I gave up on USB method and am now going the CAN route. Not sure what the issue was but this was a pretty old thumb drive.

What issue were you getting? It was my first USB update and... I was a bit dumb. I read the instructions and then see it say "did it install" so I stupidly click yes before actually doing it LOL. So I did it again, the car takes forever to recognize the USB. It then told me it'll be done the next time I turn the car on or something. So I did a full shut down, door open and then turned it on. Nothing, waited about 15 minutes. I then just clicked yes it completed but then FDRS said it has trouble communicating with my car, I kept retrying and eventually just decided I wasted too much time on it and exited FDRS and yanked the USB. When I REMOVED the USB, then it said it was safe to remove and the update was successful LOL. I reopened FDRS and it cleared. All DTC's cleared and none came back.

I got the unrecognized device. Tried with two drives. Both 64GB, ExFAT. Didn’t like them.

I got the same thing last FDRS update I did. Force restart sync while you’re not doing any updates and see if that causes it to recognize the usb drive. Worked for me.

Would cars being built this past April and being shipped now have these or these updates only for last year’s cars?

2 hours later, GWM updated with no issues using CAN unattended. Ultimately I spent about ten minutes compared to the 30 minutes fiddling with the USB.

I'll definitely figure out the USB issue for next time. Two thumb drives of the recommended size with the correct format. Also did a SYNC restart.

I didn't see a change to my range but I'm also sitting at 10% charge. Fully charging tonight for a long drive tomorrow so I'll see if I notice anything.

I tried that and it didn't seem to help. I took the slow option today, just started it and walked away for a couple of hours. I'll play around with getting a USB to recognize before the next update comes out.

On 2022's I'm seeing the exact same GWM software version as available but not the PCM, SOBDM, ...

2021 Job 1's that I have looked up are also showing the GWM update. @generaltso are you seeing the GWM on your Job 1? You may need to do a connected network scan for it to come up.

Hmmpft, looks like the GWM update popped up after I did all the other updates last night. Good thing this is a 2-day license.....

For previous GWM updates and some other ones on others cars, I used these 32gig USB drives that came FAT32 formatted. They worked no problem. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D1DIOJG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

I also saw the intelligent GOM turn on this morning I think. All of a sudden I had a lot more range estimated.
