I'd be really curious if a 17 inch fits. A bit disappointed it's 108 and not 114.3

That wheel page shows offset 38-53... I'm wondering where they got those numbers. That's a fairly large range. I wouldn't be too sure yet that everything in that range will fit well. Sure, the wheel might bolt up, but if you put a 38mm offset wheel on a car designed for a 53mm offset you may end up with problems. Plus, you don't know what the load rating of the wheel needs to be. I randomly chose one of the wheels listed on that page and it had a load rating of 1600. No way will that be strong enough for an E. The wheel load is determined by taking 50% of the heaviest axle rating of the vehicle (GAWR – gross axle weight rating). Example; if your heaviest axle weight rating is 3800 lbs then your wheel load requirement would be 1900 lbs. I don't know what the GAWR of the E will be, but I'll bet the rear axle is rated higher than 3200 pounds, probably closer to 3800.

Extended Range: RWD 4,727 lbs and AWD 4,920lbs

I wouldnt be surprised if they only went with offset and bolt pattern. Most companies probably wont even check the weight rating.

Lets wake this thread up :)

I have FE and Premium on order - so both have 19 inch wheels. leaving aside the aesthetics , are there any benefits to switching these 19inch wheels to the 18in wheels that are standard to Rt1?

I ask because I wondering of there will be efficiency gains with the 18in Aero wheels (I believe so but is it significant) and chains are allowed for that size per the manual (for winter drives if needed) versus no chains allowed on the standard 19 in wheels. Any other pros or cons? I am not an automotive expert , so trying to get some additional view points.

yes, there is again with the aero wheels. Was at the tesla dealer yesterday talking about the impact of the different wheels there. Depending on the speed they can make a difference up to 30 miles of range he said. But man they look awefull. Tread, low profile, all season, sound foam in tire, all different kinds will give a affect to range.

Smaller wheels is pointing to more range and therefore may be an option for a winter set. Would be a bit hesitant about 17" until you see someone bolt a set on.
