2023 Mach-E Feature Wishlist

Now that the 2023 Production and Ordering Dates have been released, what do you hope they add, add back, and/or remove in the 2023 model?

I'd love to see:

• Updates to battery tech for faster DC charging
• Weight reduction for more range
• Add back the kick-to-lift liftgate
• Ventilated seats
• Heads-up Display
• Rotating display (like in the Fisker Ocean)
• Updated steering wheel design unique to the Mach-E
• Adjustments to the cargo cover (it pops off too easily if you have something tall in the trunk)
• 12v battery access with pop-off covers
• Mud flaps

I haven’t seen any either, last thing I saw was this unofficial build by Shelby at the end of last year.

- More than 5 seconds of full power when the accelerator is fully depressed.

- A steering wheel that tilts down further and telescopes closer to the driver

- Revised dampers so the car doesn't drive like it's on a trampoline

- Dog mode and/or ability to turn off interior motion sensors

- Full screen android auto

- More color variety.... how about a dark green, dark blue and dark orange.

- Frunk button on keyfob

1. Profile loads when departure and comfort is used. Or any other time remote start is used. I have one profile on the car, zero reason it shouldn't just default to it every time it starts. Going to a generic profile is idiotic.

2. Option for side mirrors dip when in reverse. Since not everyone has 360 camera.

Both can be done via software though. Otherwise, I'm very very happy with my GT.

This is the first vehicle in over a decade that I've owned without cooled or ventilated seats. And it will absolutely be my last. Ford needs to make this an option ASAP, as in its current state, I doubt this car will stick around for another year.

I'm sure they'll update the software and such eventually, but you can't push an OTA update for hardware upgrades.

I agree with that entire list (except not really wanting a rotating display). I would add:

MagneRide at least optional on the Premium model
a power meter with numbers showing power draw (they could add that to any model year since the car has the info). Hope the UI change that was mentioned will include that.
A power open/close frunk (like the F150).
a dedicated hard button on the dash at least for the trunk, and frunk if the frunk is power open/close. This should have a lock out unless the car is in park.
A cargo cover that does not blow up/down all over the place when all the windows are open.
re-introduction of acoustic windows
an improved charge port door locking mechanism
Most important features are available within 2 "button" press functions. It would be great if more functions can be streamlined if possible. E.g. seat heaters, fan speeds (see next item as well).
Customizable "macro" functions that enable some functions to be "single button" click. I would choose: camera, car play and maybe others. This would easily fit in the existing UI on the top of the screen. I would remove Alexa if I could.

Ford please add more information during charging. Lots of great examples available in other vehicles/systems. Show details on driver screen and deep dive into the main screen under options during and after charging.
Already mentioned better DCFC charging cycles across the the board.

As I have mentioned in another whish list thread, I would like to see a "Travel Mode" that would optimize as many features as possible to increase mileage while on a long trip. For example, it could turn AWD vehicles into rear wheel drive, it could decrease the available acceleration, it could optimize regenerative braking, and even limit the amount of air conditioning or heating that was allowed. All these things and others would be well documented when the car was put into "Travel Mode" so no one would be surprised at having only RWD with lower acceleration and more aggressive regenerative braking, plus whatever other software fixes might give greater distance between charges on a long trip.

Ford: I hope your UX team is listening.

I really would like to see Macro modes added for all Mach E models.

Ideally the icon of my car in the correct style and color for the MME logo on the top of the screen.

My 4 Macro buttons that are all one touch activated are for example:

Camera
Phone
Car Play
Radio

If there was a 5th (that there is room for) I would add a lift gate button that is locked out unless in park.

Alexa could/should be one of the optional macro buttons (I eliminated that for this mockup).

This should be a relatively simple add to the existing UI (I know nothing is "simple") that would appear via OTA upgrade, or it can be added to the next UI that is in development.

I did a super crude mockup of what I am trying to describe.

This space is otherwise wasted and we really need some single touch buttons.

a label below each button would be nice to have, but not required.
