Does FLEX Plan Replace the Ford Options Plan

I stopped by my dealer to compare my Finance options and they showed me that there is a new FLEX plan. Terms are 66 or 75 months and payments are lower for the first 36 months and then step up for payments 37 - either 66 or 75 months. Mileage is unlimited.

They appear to no longer have the Ford Options Plan (but it is referenced on the Ford.com site).


Anyone familiar with this change?

No. The Flex Plan is something totally different and is a terrible plan (and isn't new). All it does is lower your payments early in the repayment schedule by increasing your payments later in the schedule. I don't know why anyone would do that. If your dealer is saying that this has replaced Ford Options, they're either lying or uninformed.

I hope it is a lack of knowledge. but I also cannot model Ford Options on the Ford.com site - only FLEX, Ford Credit Direct and Ford Lease.

I believe the rates for Options in October 2021 (when I ordered) were 1.79 to 2.49%

Thank you - I've used this. When I referred to modeling for comparison, I was on the Ford Finance site which is where we can apply online - but it doesn't show the Ford Options Plan currently.

I haven't looked at the site for a really long time now, but the Options calculator used to only be in the Build a Mach-E workflow and not on the general financing page's calculator.

When they stopped taking orders for 2022 MY Mach-Es, they may have inadvertently taken away access to that payment estimator.

Short Update - I called Ford Finance and the Ford Options Plan is still active. But, price protection is not offered on the interest rate at the time of ordering - the interest rate at time of purchase will be in effect. Happy I can get Options / Unhappy the interest rates are up . Anxious that my delivery date (6/19 - 25) holds.

Who did you call for that because I dont believe that is correct. I just did mine with the program protection from the time of ordering.

My dealership was able to offer me the interest rate from the time of order when I picked up, just two weeks ago. I don't think corporate folks will necessarily know about it-- it's something that can be done in the dealership system (Vincent)

Who did you call for that because I dont believe that is correct. I just did mine with the program protection from the time of ordering.

I spoke with Ford Finance - it may be specific with each dealership. I'll double check with my dealer.

I thought there was incentive protection from the time of order. The dealer has the choice in SmartVincent, but I'm not sure how or if incentive protection stacks up with the MSRP pricing protection. That's a bit outside of my wheelhouse.

Incentives are more on the Ford side of things so I'd be surprised if a Ford Credit phone rep knows how to lock incentives or pricing.
