I see no need whatsoever to replace the supplied Ford charging cable for travel. It works fine... and lives under the floor in the back of the car. Keep in mind that when I travel, I charge at DCFC or destination chargers... both have cables. If I ever need to find an outlet, the Ford charger is fine.

What problem are you solving for?
I will continue reading but this is exactly my problem! I can charge for free at work (I.e. save about $50/mo). I need a mobile charger. I can’t install a home charger in the work parking lot or decide I get my own parking space. There’s already enough hell that EVers get because they allow us to charge for free. My charger started to give me faults this week and is incredibly slow or stops midday. First world problem, but I would prefer to not have to go walk 10 minutes round trip to unplug and plug in multiple times a day. I need a better option once I’ve exhausted my 3 year warranty or I get annoyed.

Do you think they put a limit on how many new FMCs I can get under warranty? Lol ?

@FLmac ---That's the response I'm looking for. seeing who's destroyed the supplied charging cord. Had a buddy buy an EV, didn't come with one, went back to the dealer with him. I think a lot of manufactures are getting hot garbage for a cord, and. the one I carry has a 1" cable, and when plugged into 50 amps in the sun, it didn't get hot...was 105 out.

For anyone that has had theirs replaced, have you seen improved performance with the new one? I'm pickling up a replacement tomorrow.

What does the Orange LED mean? I notice it charges much slower when the orange led is on. I have been this charger as my "main" charger since Feb 2021 (27K miles). It is plugged into a 240v outlet.

Per manual, there are some other cases so can check Page 165 in 2022 manual.

That orange is actually amber. Your symptom is the classic “overheat detection” failure mode being reported by quite a few people. Your dealer *should* replace it under warranty.
