I’m looking for build date clarification, don’t rip me if this seems super simple. :).

my MME GT was originally scheduled for week of 5/16. Rescheduled to week of 5/23. Sticker shows a date of 5/13 at the bottom below all the graphics. A 5/18 date is listed in the special order section of the sticker at the bottom. My modules were populated on 5/26 and ford marked the car as built on 5/29.
So for the purposes of this recall, what date do you believe will be used?

It’s suppose to be delivered to the dealer over the next five days.

Let's say your argument is correct just for discussion. This is going to cost Ford and their dealers a whole lot of cash, plus the bad PR once the auto press gets hold of this. But, let's say this doesn't matter and this really is about selling more F-150's, where are they going to come from? I believe that Ford has already sold 2 years of production, so how would this help anybody?

This is an engineering failure - either they did not factor in some real-world situation that is making these fail, they had a manufacturing problem that is now being discovered or it's their bad software. I think we have to consider a combination of all 3.

I also have to think that they brought this on themselves. Last Friday, Mike Levine was tweeting smack about Tesla's software and how it was making people put hands on the steering wheel. Then, BOOM, the next business day, this breaks.

IMHO, Ford needs to take a step back, refocus on making better software, addressing these types of issues and talk about their cars and trucks, not other companies who they don't have any control over, and one day may be buying software from.
Ford unfortunately has a poor history when it comes to new model launches and issues :( be they build problems or not fit for purpose components that need a subsequent redesign.

With the battery production being the main limitation the mach-e had the benefit of not being the standard crank them out production run with a complex parts bin of configurations to chose from that can easily compound any early problem. I did however have a delayed launch due to covid, so one has to wander and question how much actual testing was done for this issue to not been found before hand seeing as some owners have had it happen at very low mileage.

Still Ford also has a very bad habit of bean counting and de-contenting subsequent model years, so you either get in early and hope you don't end up getting recalled to fix the inadequate parts, or you wait for a later model year with the fixed parts but now have missing features, you're damned if you do and damned if you don't.

I offered you $7500 under sticker. You never got back to me.
Just out of curiosity......why would that be fair? Maybe 1/2 of the tax savings? Wouldn't offering $7500 under sticker basically give you all the tax advantage?

Just trying to understand.

It only matters what the PTS says. 5/29 is the build date sounds like. Your GT likely has the upgraded part and will be good for sale when it arrives.

Except it's not. A quarter is 13 weeks. The third quarter will begin on the first day of the 27th week of the year. Which is not July 1st.

I'm pretty sure according to the bulletin some if not all affected VINs will need a replacement part. MY guess is only GTs will actually need a replacement part but who knows it is way too early to know. They may put it in all extended range...or all vehicles in general.
Maybe send us a pace car so we can drive slower following. Better yet a i-pace car ....

Im hoping my 5/25 squeezed out with the new part. Might explain the week delay in build.

I dunno but I always thought the end of the quarter 2 was 6/30 and then my payroll report for Q3 begins 7/1. :)

A year is 52 weeks. 52/4=13 Business, accounting, banking, all operate this way.
