I plan on using my Audi e-tron charger which has an option to charge at 50% versus 100. Actually at my last Audi service they put a sticker on saying that's a recommended level if possible. Does anyone know if the Ford charger does this?
It doesn't.

6/25 onward builds are clear to be sold.
5/25

Oh great, so in 7 years when the class action lawsuit is settled we will each get about $37.42 .

People just love to throw out the class action lawsuit argument out there
The Explorer/Firestone Class action lawsuit is my favorite. I think the plaintiffs got a $200 coupon off their next vehicle purchase while the lawyers got $41M in fees. The lawyers are the only ones who win.

You do know that the Audi charger is a level 2 charger, and that by limiting the current you're having zero effect on the issue, which MAY occur as a result of DC fast charging, right?

Your understanding doesn't match mine, and I had a 1998 Explorer affected by the lawsuit. However, I did get brand new tires (all 5 as I recall) and they were Goodyear as I recall. I do know there was some type of coupon issued at some point, don't recall getting it.

I thought Level 1 and Level 2 charging is what would potenially help verus DCFC? I figured limiiting the heat to the battery at 50% would help further?

You may think that, but there's zero information that tells us to cut power on Level 2 charging for any reason.

is Ford still building MME during this time until the OTA update comes out in July? I am still waiting for a production date.

I can do level 1, but it isn't practical. I can't do level 2 because I don't have 220 in my apartment. I rely on DCFC and Level 1 to top it off. I drive 65 miles per day. I don't have many options.
I hope you don't spin too much on this. Enjoy the car... if it breaks its aggravating but under warranty.

you may be confusing DCFC with a level 2 charger. Many but not all level 2 chargers are configurable in terms of how much current they will pass. The charger that ships with the MME is not.

For perspective, Level 2 chargers are typically 32 or 40 Amps. Cutting this by half is 16 or 20 Amps. That current measure is at 240V coming from the wall.

Inside the car, when the voltage is converted to DC and stepped up to ~400v, the current going through the relays into the battery is on the order of 20 Amps or less.

By comparison, DCFC is hundreds of Amps. WOT in a GT is many hundreds of Amps. Scaling back your level 2 charger is not likely to be helpful.

Not really. Each of us would get warranty extended 3 months plus a free tire rotation.
Lawyers get $20 million.

My guess is the software fix just improves temperature monitoring and power management to be less binary than 100% or 50% of power available. The more driving data they have, the better they'll be able to tune it. Early Teslas were pretty shitty that way, too. I think the stutter people complain about at the end of a one pedal stop is a controller that adjusts in too large increments, also something that gets better with data and refinement.

I'm on the silver side of this cloud - I think the OTA update is a big first step towards getting rid of the power cut. Would be nice if they beefed up the contactors, too.
