No I haven't seen those, I was hoping the webex sessions would actually cover things like that, but they were more fluff sessions covering press releases and marketing info. Do you happen to have those links? Thanks in advance
Look at the Forum postings from the time of the release on 17 November. Lots of links.

The level of disinformation and wishful thinking on a new product launch is always amazing.
Fortunately, I think most of it is misinformation rather than disinformation.

I flew airplane loads of Apple Watches, iPhones, iPads, and Android devices galore out of Shenzhen and Guangzhou China non stop to the USA. And in all that time exactly two cars, both formula one racers sponsored by the airline.

Not only is airfreight faster it’s exponentially more expensive when it’s heavier snd bigger. Yeah, we probably want to keep the cars on trains, trucks, and ships.
Bill - yes, the value to cube ratio of an Apple product to any vehicle has got to be in the hundreds, if not thousands. Air freighting an I Phone doesn't add much cost. Air freighting a vehicle might change the price a little bit! ;)

I predict it will be here when it gets here; this has been based, in part, on the information put forward from this site ;). Pretty sure I will see owner reviews prior. I was told by my dealer built in November, 4 to 8 weeks to ship? Wife says my birthday in March? Have not been this excited about new tech since flat screens in 07 (a/v receivers) and the PC mid 80's (autocad, adobe PS, flac ... ). Looking forward to the experience. Should be a whole lot more info coming out soon prior to the first received. When will the first costumer take receipt day/time? Best guess; local if you have it.

@Jimrpa no idea how long the trip to Canada is, but the Netherlands 8 weeks including Christmas holidays seems reasonable
Sorry - I thought you were in Quebec. My bad!

LOL yes we have and the sheer quantity of posts about it ensures that anyone new to the site here won't read them at all because of "TL;DR"...

(Something of which has been pointed out to me a few times already LOL)
It doesn't help when you go to a topic and it's loaded down with posts that have nothing to do with said topic either.

I'm dismayed anytime I see an FE build date reported after the week of Nov 9. That's the 3rd week from the supposed customer build start of Oct 26. We're told they hope to have all FEs build over 3 weeks.

Something's not adding up.
Was it ever confirmed all FE's would be made before Premiums? There isn't much difference between the two, and if they have supply chain issues on the FE parts I can see them being mixed together.

It is my understanding (given some of the insider's posts) that the FE builds will have other trim's "sprinkled in the mix" because it takes different amount of time/effort to make the different trims and thus the line moves more efficiently when there is a mix and not all a single trim.

Okay I give up, I couldn't find the needle in the haystack. Too many search results, came up and there isn't an easy way (that I could find) to isolate last November. I'll just take everyone's word for it that orders aren't sequential and trust that one day, when I least expect it my dealer will email me some news of production.

Correct. Which to me means some FE may get built in December.

and some Premiums, CA Rt1's and Selects are built in November (giving some of us non-FE's hope they may see our cars early if we win the "production lotto").

OOh! My 1000th post do I get a cookie?? LOL (Yeah I "talk" alot lol)

There's some debate on that. I think many assumed that based on various info without it being unequivocally stated. But I'm more going by trutolife27's statements, that (a) some models will be mixed going down the line just because of timing issues that make the line run more efficiently that way, and (b) they hope to have all FEs built in 3 weeks.

That would be both a Yes and a No. No, it's not exclusively FEs being build first (customer units), but Yes, they hope to get them done in 3 weeks.

That is a general rule of assembly line management. For Mach E it may not work.
  • FE is effectively just the Premium with a few parts swapped out. There shouldn't be much time difference.
  • Current estimate is the orders are 80% Premium and 15% FE (which is pretty much a Premium)
Percentages from order sheet
California Route 183%
First Edition4115%
Premium22480%
Select72%
281
Not much option for line flexibility.

BTW, one way they could do that is simply mix more of the FCTP's and FEs together. Basically save some of the FCTPs to mix them in with the FEs, since the FCTPs will be of various trims. Might even be able to move the Oct 26 date up a little that way too.

If they're all being held in lots at the plant until Nov 23 OKTB anyway, it really shouldn't matter that they mix some FCTBs and FEs together.
