It looks like there were repeated attempts at installs of a few updates in March. Do you know why these failed? What was the power supply used during the updates? What adapter were you using?

If the hardware is fine, my recommendation is to run a PMI on the GWM and see if the errors clear. If not then you should follow 22B08 to see if it detects any failures which can be repaired on APIM and TCU. There are also APIM and TCU PMI options but I do not recommend running them unless someone else has been through the process to know if there are any subsequent steps.

I'm using a Mongoose+ and a good power supply, I think the failures were a result of me not always understanding the instructions exactly right.
I ran PMI on the GWM and it cleared but the other two are still active. I haven't tried the procedures in 22B08 as it mentions running alignment procedures, do they require any special equipment? Also, my license expires tonight so I don't want to get halfway through something and find out I need daylight to complete it. I'll buy another license tomorrow if you think trying it might be helpful.
TSB 22-2150 applies to those two modules but I have successfully received all of the OTA updates so far so that doesn't sound like it would be the culprit.

I believe the alignment procedures just have you drive in a few scenarios. Pretty straightforward.

I have yet to have a PMI require other steps. You should be fine running on APIM and TCU as that is the official procedure when there is an install problem. I just have not tried it in these modules so I don’t want to recommend it. If I were in your shoes I would run the PMI especially since it took care of the GWM but it is up to you.

I ran the PMI on the other modules with no luck, same DTCs still appear. I purchased the adapters for 22-2150 and renewed my license just to find out I could have found out it doesn't apply to my car by starting the procedure, it lets you know if it's needed before requiring you to hook anything up. Doh! The DTC on both modules refers to TSB 22-2109 but, when I read that one, it doesn't sound like it applies to my problem. I guess I'm just going to give up at this point, everything seems to be working fine on the car and no warning lights or messages are appearing. Thanks for your help!

Did you reinstall FDRS, selecting the clear user data/cache option? Sometimes that makes more updates show up.

You selected the GSM self-test and did clear and retest? If it doesn’t clear then shut the car completely off, open the drivers door, and let the car sit for 5 minutes to go to sleep. Then try again. Some errors won’t clear until the module has gone to sleep and restarted.

The VCM error doesn’t seem related, that’s probably your scan tool. Reboot the PC and reconnect it.
GSM selftest did run multiple times. Never cleared. Ill try this procedure again in the next week.

VCM error did not go away, ill try it again on a separate laptop with only FDRS installed. Maybe some other stuff on my laptop is blocking something.

There are a lot of similarities between the MME and '21/'22 F-150s as far as modules/OTA/FDRS goes so I thought I'd mention that on the F-150 forum there are members in a thread similar to this that have recently experienced OTAs 'updates' that reverted their systems to previous iterations. So far the cause has not been determined. For anybody who's interested, the first post that mentions this issue is here. It goes on from there. You'll see several folks saying they are now turning off updates.

I don't know if this will affect MMEs or not, it's just a heads-up just in case.

@Arjan - What you describe to me sounds an awful lot like a "real" problem. But you never know with all the computerized modules in this thing.

On that note, for the first time in forever my car is now 100% up to date. I don't know what to do with my time! ?
It was a hardware problem, but not where you might think.
The actual gearknob was giving the error, the dealer replaced it this morning and the problems went away.....

I reinstalled FDRS and checked the clear user data option, same results. In fact, now the GWM DTC is back with the same codes as well. I've driven the car a few times and left it off for hours in between so any changes should have taken effect. Thankfully, everything including BlueCruise is working fine and no warnings are showing.

Have you also purchased a suitable 12V power supply? Do not start any FDRS updates without a proper power supply on the 12V.

Otherwise FDRS manages which updates are appropriate for your vehicle based on VIN and current versions. If they have to be applied in a particular order, then FDRS will manage that too.

The "picking and choosing" seems to be done by the dealership when they are only getting paid by Ford to apply certain fixes per vehicle.
