I agree we don't know why, but I disagree with your cost assessment. This is probably $3 a car including supplier pricing, shipping, and assembly labor - assume 50,000 Mach-E's a year over a typical 6 year vehicle production life and this frunk divider add just spent $900,000. Pretty sure you could code saving the dashcam to USB for less. But that's a fake either/or proposition to begin with.We've been through lots of speculative rounds on why the divider was added. But none of us know the reason yet.
It adds less cost than other features that many customers also won't use, such as dash cam or YouTube.
