I may be misremembering but I could swear that with adaptive cruise on and in stop and go traffic the car will stop when traffic comes to a stop but then "go" again without any driver interatction.
I was using it over the weekend and it was prompting me to hit the cruise cancel/resume button for the car to start moving again.
I don't ever remember having to do that but then again it has been probably a year since I've last been in that situation.

Your memory is bad. It waits 30 seconds (it's in the manual I believe), then you have to hit resume.

I believe, but will verify if the conditions arise, that if you're using BlueCruise handsfree on the highway, and get into stop and go traffic, you don't have to hit resume.

Message Action

Message - Stopped - Cruise control does not resume automatically when this display is active.

Message - Press Resume Button - If the lead vehicle begins to move, you are prompted to press the resume button. Press Resume Button Press and release the button or use the accelerator pedal to resume following the lead vehicle.

Message - Auto-Resume - Displays when on a limited access highway after following a vehicle to a complete stop. In this situation, the vehicle resumes following the lead vehicle without a button
press or pressing the accelerator pedal. The system can remain in auto-resume state
for approximately 30 seconds, after which it no longer automatically resumes.

In BlueCruise (full hands free mode) the car will also resume after having stopped in stop and go traffic.

It will also auto-resume in non-handsfree mode if you are on a limited access highway, and the stop is less than 30 seconds.

Exactly this - my base select non blue cruise equipped will auto resume (from stop) on interstates and highways. On arterials and surface streets I have to press resume or the accelerator pedal to resume the auto follow cruise control.

Yes it does, and last time I was driving in traffic congestion on freeway, it scared my wife several times. When a car in front changes lane and creates a gap, Mach-E starts accelerating pretty hard trying to get to 75mph before suddenly breaking for the car in front. Either the algorithms is pretty bad that it can't plan for the next 30ft or a car can't see more than 10-20 ft ahead.

? I've been using adaptive/BC on my F150 for a while and am familiar with this so it made me laugh. Normally, I will use my "-" to adjust to the flow of traffic when I start seeing brake lights and traffic is crawling, and if completely stopped I try to make sure its back into the 20's of mph. It sounds like extra work but it makes for more gentle resumes. The algorithm seems to decide acceleration based on how far away the target speed is. Occasionally I still forget and boy do I get a "talking to" from the wife when the truck freaks her out and floors it.

EDIT: I don't know it the +/- lever on the Mach E does it, but on the F150 the +/- buttons will jump in increments of 5mph if you hold them down.

I did not realize that the adaptive cruise was also gps dependant. Interesting.

Me neither! I guess for highways I've only used it on BC ones, where BC handles stop and go without user input. When I use it on streets or canyons, anytime I come to a stop, I have to press resume or the pedal. I've never experienced the 30 second window others have.

It works great in slow and go with the occasional short duration stop. It does require intervention for longer full stops. ??

You can also hit the gas a bit and then it will kick back on as well.

If memory doesn't fail me the +/- lever changes speed in 1mph increments.
But if you hold the lever it will proceed to 5 mph jumps, as said above.
Which is the EXACT OPPOSITE on my Volvo C40 ?
