1. I have seen a mockup of a side view of the MME showing a tap for opening the frunk and trunk. It's not however the main screen. Cameras I haven't seen anything for.
2. There's many mockups showing climate, fan and heated seat control using the vol wheel.
3. Probably not gonna happen.

I wouldn't count on many changes for FP. That's a lot trickier because FP is used for the whole fleet of vehicles, not just the MME.
That’s good news re #2.

The rear hatch access might not seem like a big deal, but I do a lot of shuttling kids around and it is a big deal. “Mr. ____, can you open the trunk?” “Sure, just let me tap around on these screen for 5 seconds while I wait on the laggy interface.” It’s a pain in the ass. This is an important feature - of all things Ford included that can be accessed via a single-tap (I’m thinking of max defrost when there is already a dedicated hard button for that!) it’s annoying that Ford makes it so hard to open the trunk. In fact, that physical max defrost button should have been for opening the trunk.

This is one of those things that probably happened because it made sense on paper. “See will have an access section where they can do that!” But it’s a PITA in real life.

My guess would be that the main screen is dedicated towards items that are easily accessible while operating the vehicle. The NHTSA has strict guidelines about how long someone can be looking at anything other than the road while the vehicle is in motion. Vehicle UI Designs have to take this into consideration.

Max defrost, while maybe you and I won't need to use it often, other's might and not being able to see out of a frosted window, would be dangerous. So, it's something that's available on the home screen for good reason. Opening a trunk/frunk is not something that needs to be done while in motion or while attention should be dedicated to the road, therefore it's put in a secondary menu. While this can be a PITA, it's prioritizing things for safety reasons.

I believe, as Hunting posted above, that it should be a physical button only accessible to the driver. I think Ford missed the mark on that one. There are threads on how to add that button, but we will also be getting a TSB to replace it at some point for that entire headlight control unit so I probably wouldn't mess with it until after.

The headlight control unit replacement is going to end up being a recall?

I should rephrase that. It's likely going to be a TSB and just replace them for people who complain, but honestly I don't know how they are doing that. All I know is that it's a hardware replacement which has been discussed in other threads in more detail.

Ah, okay, yeah I've seen the current TSB where it just says the part will be available soon, hopefully soon is actually soon!

Yes that. I want that! Is that a photoshop or is it different on different models?

No clue why the max defrost button is next to the headlight switch.

Someone posted how to do it. All models get the max defrost button but you can buy the liftgate button for a different Ford car, I think the Edge, and then pop off your headlight switch, do some wiring so that it controls the liftgate instead of the defrost and just pop it back on.

One thing I would love to see is prioritizing profile loading/selection. I hate that I always get squished by the seat settings set by my wife. If I could hop in, turn on the car, and immediately switch the profiles, it would be amazing.
It does this already. You gotta sync the fob and your phone (if you’re using PAAK) in the profile settings to each individual profile
The PaaK and Fob works, at least if your software modules are up to date. I had a problem with that prior to getting everything updated in Feb. Now it only happens when my wife is with me and carrying her fob. Once and a while the car detects her fob before detecting my PaaK and selects her profile, which crushes me into the steering wheel.

And there is a way to instantly get to your profile if the car selects the wrong one: press the corresponding button on the door. If your profile uses button 1, press it and the car will switch to your profile. No need to touch the big sync screen at all. Works great.

And here is the link to the post that started the headlight assembly mod. Instructions follow. This mod has been on my to-do list for more than a month. I have the parts, now I just need the time.
