I did. Doesn’t hurt.
Where did you place the camera and battery. Also, is the fuse for this located on the passenger side or to the right of the Frunk under the hood.

Front camera was placed on the plastic piece on the passenger side of the rear view mirror. The battery pack is mounted under the passenger seat and the fuse box it goes to is under the dash on that side as well.

Why are people installing these dash cams? I never thought about it before. Curious. Thanks.
Never mind. I just found some links here on dash cams. Going to read them and learn up. Thanks again.
Before I got mine I was hit 2x overnight while parked. No cams in the lot. There was a neighbor with a dashcam but was overwritten by the time it was checked.

Get a big enough card in case you don't notice something immediately.

Btw, mine is a Blackvue 900 2channel (f + r). Happy with it so far... still need to complete the wiring, when the garage is cooler to do the work.

So if you dont want to get all the wiring done and just have a dash cam with ideally radar module that you connect to your USB port for power what is the best option? Also if you had a small external USB battery could it power the dashcam when the car is parked? I dont care if the dashcam is up near the mirror or mounted on the front dash with velcro? I guess my main concern is having some hack at BestBuy install something on the new car, I dont think they have done many Mach Es around me and also I would worry about 12V battery discharge... valid concerns? or not?

Thanks. Had it installed yesterday by a local auto/marine electronics chain(Cartronics). The Front camera was placed to the right of the mirror housing, radar module to the right of that and battery under the passenger seat.

Check this adapter out, it makes it so you can pull the power from the auto dimming rear view mirror!

I'm going to buy the Blackvue DR750-2CH LTE use a $10/ month T-mobile 2G hotspot nano sim card for true parking mode. I already have 3 dings on my car. :-(.

I just sent back the thinkware F200 Pro. The F200 also uses a different app that's not as nice as the 1000U and it was a pain to connect to Wi-fi. Sometimes I couldn't get it to connect at all and because I couldn't access the settings to turn off audio, I had to unplug the camera since she wouldn't shut up telling me GPS was connected and the device was recording every few minutes. The OBDII cable made installation simple but I really want something with an easier interface and better connectivity and I hope Blackvue delivers. The blackvue Dr900x plus is 4K and on the top of every dash cam list but this one is 1080 60 fps with built in LTE and looks to be the same quality.

Where is the fuse box? I see one on the passenger side but it doesn't easily open. Is there one on the driver's side to use for the hardwiring?

I still haven't been able to figure out how to consistently view my live feeds and parking mode. I'm not willing to pay them a subscription fee.

Viofo is just coming out with a brand new model. Upgraded everything. Its the A229...I am waiting to get it. PLUS look at DONGAR technologies for a idea they came up with to get power right from the mirror. I allready bought that and waited months for it. Theres a guy with a mach e, on you tube, with this DONGAR Tech hook up. Took him literally 5 minutes. Keeps you frim tapping into the fuse box. Good luck with your decision.

You are way ahead of me. I'm still trying to figure out how to get my recordings into the cloud, the free one, not the one you have to pay for.

I have a 50/50 success rate. :-( I need to read the manual or call Blackvue.

Hey guys. I just finished installing the Viofo A229 duo dash cam. And getting power from the auto mirror made it so easy. I did it myself. The Viofo A229 is their newest camera out. Much smaller cables, easier to run. Its QHS 2k front and rear. The electric power tap, to the mirror by DONGAR technology is great. I suggest looking into it. I used a 256 high endurance card by SANDISK. I am so happy to finally have this done. heres a few pictures.

What about the Ford dashcam integrated in SYNC via Applink?
