That’s the first evidence I’ve seen of that happening. Perhaps there is hope.
The week after flashing in fdrs i was at the dealer for a different issue and also asked of they could clear the error. But the guy told me that it is a procedure that the cannot do if they don't flash the updates.

After that it took 3 or 4 weeks and the recall was gone.

Do they list the recall on your paperwork at all? I believe they still submitted the warranty work to get paid and cleared it that way, even though they told you they can’t.

It certainly appears to be a low point of Ford's. I actually took the 21G01 updates ENTIRELY OTA, and it didn't clear from ETIS. Did the 21P22 and 22S41 myself and they too are not clear. It kind of appears the only way to ever clear them is to go to a dealer and waste your time so they can waste Ford's money to say they did something they didn't do.

No the reason for that is quite simple, ford can see what account did the updates, so they would not get payed anyway.

I actually told them to claim the recall so it would be cleared on my vin. But this was their answer

Hmm they definitely can see who did them but my dealer cleared my recall and said they’ll definitely get paid and have done them in the past.

Did you do the updates in the last couple of weeks when Ford changed how non-dealers log into FDRS where you have to use your Ford account login? I’m wondering if that change made it so Ford can clear recalls and programs tied to VINs.

Yes i used the "new"login method and (still) the latest fdrs version

This is the direct link to that update post https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...fdrs-alternative-to-forscan.10217/post-475729

Is FDRS still incompatible with a Macbook? Unfortunately all I have is an M1 Macbook which can't be Bootcamp'd.

Correct. Someone tried doing it in Parallels but it didn't work. You can just find a cheapo laptop on a marketplace somewhere for FDRS, doesn't need much to operate. Someone reported buying one for $50 that worked.

FDRS uses a copy protection system that disables itself if virtualization is detected since that's one of the easiest ways to disassemble an app to reverse it. M1 can't run native x86 since it's ARM. You need another laptop/PC.

I've got an old HP laptop with 2GB of RAM. The FDRS requirements state a "required 3GB RAM", you think this will do?

Ooof, I don't know. I'm not sure if it does a system check before even allowing the install. I'd say to try and add more RAM, but RAM would probably cost more than a cheapo laptop nowadays lol.

FDRS installed successfully, but it did throw a "VCI is out of date" error.

Yes on the Frunk system fault message. I was told engineering is investigating.

You should be good on the OBCC...it's not really a downgrade reversion...things were tweaked in the newly released -AM version.

It is not.

Ford are aware of it and it was in the top of the "alerts" section of PTS yesterday. So they are working on it. It's just a nuisance.

I will advise when I see a remedy show up.
