Correct. -AN is replaced with -AM. @Mike G mentioned here that in the Lightning forums someone posted a comparison which shows that some data identifiers reverted to -AM versions, while some stayed at the -AN versions.
That was actually my comparison.

The F-150 FDRS thread has details of a recently released BCM update that is causing issues. Link to post.

I just looked at the F-150 thread. FYI, I ran a few PMI routines in May while trying to clear some repeating DTC's. I ran the BCM PMI; it ran fine and did not require any post install configuration. I will say that it was the only time I ran a PMI and was actually worried about bricking a module but it was fine.

The APIM update from 2.8.3 wasn't available in FDRS anyway. I have been keeping up with updates using FDRS but had to wait until this morning for 2.8.3 to install.

That has something to do with the sync module. Do you know what it changed?

So the frunk button is not an APIM update?
No. 2021’s all have the same SYNC software as of 2.8.3. Job 1’s don’t see Frunk buttons, non GT’s don’t see Unbridled Extended, etc.

The OBCC is a -AM version (from the previous -AN) and would appear to be a reversion but I believe, just like in the Lightning's case with that OBCC update this past weekend some DIDs were updated, and some were rolled back.

As an example, attached is what changed on the Lightning (vs. our dealer's mannequin as a reference)

On the BCM update from this morning. There is still no frunk button for those who are wondering but there is a "Service Frunk" message that pops up on startup now and has to be acknowledged. I have a Job 1 with just a manual frunk opening lever so not sure what needs servicing unless its something to do with the latch. The frunk opens and closes and latches normally as it did before the BCM update. And there are no DTCs at all. So. A bit of a mystery. The version it updates to for my '21 Job 1 is MU5T-14C184-ACR.

I've done a BCM config already (2x) and a LIN procedure as well with no changes.

Oh, and I don't use or have PAAK enabled.

I assume you're still getting this Frunk fault at every startup? I was going to run the OBCC and BCM updates today, but maybe I'll hold off.

Yes on the Frunk system fault message. I was told engineering is investigating.

You should be good on the OBCC...it's not really a downgrade reversion...things were tweaked in the newly released -AM version.

I suppose this was expected considering the issue on Job 1's
Yeah, not a surprise. It's kinda funny that they forgot to tell the BCM to ignore the fact that Job 1 cars don't have a functional frunk button.
