But my dealer seems to have three ahead of mine that aren't FE's. I assume those are FCTP's.

This is baffling because there’s people first editions with a build date later than premiums. Maybe they are staggering the bills because there’s only so many first editions that can be worked on at a time or something?

My dealer just got back to me with the following:
“ normally priority codes have an effect on when vehicles would be scheduled. Mach-E is A commodity limited vehicle we will only receive allocation for a few of them this first season. Your order has been assigned one of our allocated spots so it will be built without delay, Regardless of the priority code. “

My dealer is good and always open with me, so I feel pretty confident about what he’s saying. I’m just not sure what he means by “first season”, however, if I have one I’d their allocation spots, I assume I’m going to get my car in the fullness of time. I’d like to know when to call the electrician though ?

That's what I was guessing too. Priority code likely has no bearing on MMEs during this initial period while other priority criteria takes precedence. Probably only impacts normal lot inventory orders (which for the MME that's probably another year away).

Well bad news. Probably going to have to cancel having been given a build week of December 14 for my Premium SR RWD. Need here by December 31 and I doubt that's at all possible.

You may want to check with your tax accountant. If you have the VIN/order for this year, you might be able to get it to show this year even if delivery isn't until next year.

All you need is a VIN and date put into use. I remembered it was surprisingly easy to claim and only needed a VIN. I looked up the form though and forgot about the put into use date detail.

You can claim anything, but If you get audited and they see a 2021 actual buy date....

I haven't read though all the activity today but if I were to guess.....
We are probably finding out that cars with early time stamps are being assembled before cars with later time stamps.

First Editions are probably falling in line based on time stamp just like everyone else. Is that about the size of it? First Editions may not be first even though many really wanted to believe that to be true.

My understanding is you need a final signed and paid contract in 2020 with the dealer (who needs a VIN). you Can do that and not receive the car til later if you choose. But you’ll be paying for the car as of the date contract is signed.

Yeah I got that e-mail too, 12/7--I forwarded it on to my salesperson to see if they can dig up a VIN for me.
