[Recall software was applied in early July by dealer]

GF wanted to show her friend how the MME drives last night, and so she drove my car around the neighborhood (less than a mile). When she got back 5 minutes later, she went to put the car in reverse to back into our driveway and the car threw damn near every fault message and bricked. She never was above 40 MPH, didn’t floor it or anything…

I came out and tried starting it, and the car didn’t think it was in Park, and I couldn’t move the gear shifter at all, and this time it was a ”AWD system fault.”

In context, the car was set to Whisper mode with 1PD on, and was on a slight incline in the neighbor’s driveway.

I went back inside and let the car power down. Came back out a few minutes later, and this time it started up (still showing a fault) but I was able to back into my driveway across the street with no issues.

15 minutes later I went back out and started the vehicle… no warnings or anything.

Any ideas on what this was, and whether there is cause for future concern?

I'd recommend you take it to the dealer and have them pull the codes. I suspect it has zero to do with the update.

Yeah it was completely weird. Happened when she was trying to shift into reverse.

Do you have an OBDII adapter? You need to pull the codes.
The good news is that one of our members kindly reached out and ran my VIN, and no error codes showed up.

The weird news is that no error codes showed up…

Same thing happened to our 4X once back in early July. Shut it off and started it back up and all was well. A subsequent check with my OBD2 module revealed no DTCs. ??‍♂ I’m thinking the gas cap wasn’t secured ?

I had this happen just once in my car and it was when I shifted into reverse but the car was still moving a bit. I make sure the car is completely stopped now and never seen it again. That was over a year ago

I’m going to see about getting the Turbo Encabulator checked!

the same thing happened to me, it seems if youre moving and throwing it in reverse too quickly. The car doesn't like it. Happened once around 5k miles and hasn't happened again (now 20k) I make sure I come to a complete stop. Shut it off and waited a little all codes gone.

I shift into reverse while moving forward every time I pull into my garage in order to activate the cameras. Never had a problem.

When i had this issue occur, I missed a turn on a small road in the mountains I was still moving around 5-10 mph. At low speeds 1-4 when i pull out of a parking spot, its fine.
