I’m curious about the logistics of this. Go through a drive through and then stand outside the car waiting to put food in the frunk or get the food pull up to a stop then get out and put it in the frunk? Im not judging, just curious.

I don’t have the willpower to not eat in my daily driver - if it was a weekend toy or similar.. for sure would be way more strict. But I commute an hour each way and start early so I spend a good portion of my day in my car - as well as a good portion of the day eating ? not a good mix to stop car eating all together. I also put as much interior protection as possible and clean my interior to some extent every time I get out of the car to help limit any problems.
Pull off to the side if there's room or into a parking spot while you do it. Takes about 10 seconds.

What are you folks, nuts??

A car's not really mine until I've vacuumed fried-chicken breading off the carpet at a car wash or at home.

An unexpected bonus of this car: Blue Cruise offers a great way to keep greasy fingers off the steering wheel until I've had a chance to put that drumstick down and use the paper towel, without subluxing a hip from knee steering!

We eat in the car when needed. My wife tends to be messier than I am, but happy wife, happy life. Coming back from a recent road trip I ate a sandwich doing 75 on I-80 with BlueCruise Hands Free. It was surprisingly easy and calm.

I vacuum the car fairly frequently...

I don’t even vacuum. I’m a horrible husband who hand washes the car but won’t scrub/vacuum the inside.

Vacuuming is easy. It's washing the car that's a PITA... ?

Only on trips. Towel or napkin on lap. Barely a crumb.

When our kids were little, carseat had rubber mat under it. Never buy fast food, period, except rarely on a trip. Cars are nit restaurants.

A messy car indicates much about the owner IMO.

I’ve been really good about this since I got it almost two months ago. Today, had to take my mom to urgent care and we had nothing to do so we grabbed lunch and sat in the car. Wasn’t thrilled but this will NOT be a regular thing.

My dog already ate, puked, and defecated in my car, though I asked him to wait till I stopped. He is the only one who is allowed to do all three. ?
Yeah, my last dog did all three in the car when he had the stupid cancer. Thank goodness for the 3D Maxpider mats. ?? Did I ever say that I freakin’ hate cancer? ??

Absolutely never. The last two cars, both my wife and I agreed no food in the car. We don't eat in the car and all food goes in the trunk. In my opinion, and I have not data to back it up..simply my thoughts, the food odor stays in the car. I knew someone in college that delivered pizzas, and their car always smelled like pizza's when I got in the vehicle. It was days since the car had delivery pizzas and it always smelt like food. Yuck!

  • I generally refuse to eat any fast food (other than coffee)
  • I don't like cold/soggy food
  • Sunflower seeds are the best thing to keep me awake if I'm drowsy
So that means that I go and sit down to eat at a restaurant or I eat at home. The only time there's eating in the car is on long trips when it's necessary, normally sunflower seeds because for some reason they keep me awake if I'm feeling drowsy.

I'm alright with people drinking in my car(non-alcoholic of course), eating I'm bit more fussy about. I have a little tray I keep in the car that goes on the steering wheel to making eating on the go when I can park somewhere easier. When the car is moving though, it needs to be some kind of food that doesn't really make a mess. Meat sticks, cheese curds, stuff like that. No breads, or chips or crackers or anything of that nature in the car period.
