I jokingly give our family cars alliterative nicknames based on color, e.g., White Whale, Black Bomber. Funny, but my wife wondered the other day what I was going to call my MME when it finally gets here. I hadn't thought about it. "Red ...?" I don't know. Suggestions?

My wife just started calling her "Bo" (Beau) because of the B&O badging. So I guess now we call her Bo...

“Problem child” about sums mine up. It was a term of endearment that has worn off…

Bluebyu - which is probably better as a vanity plate and not the official name. It might get lost on the younger folks.

It works 2 ways.
  1. I just blew by you (when I was probably driving too fast again).
  2. it's blue and my comment as I pass you: bye, you

Stanger. But that's how I refer to all Mach-e's I see on the road. I.e. - there's another stranger.

Scotty is my baby; Infinite Blue reminded me of entering warp speed so I had to do something in the Star Trek universe. Kirk didn’t feel right, neither did Spock. Therefore Scotty was christened. He has his Starfleet emblem and WRPDRV vanity plate. All I need is a proper Scotty Funko to place in the cabin…

Long unnecessary backstory:
My first car was a 2005 black Mini Cooper Convertible. Black cars are basically impossible to keep dust free, so pretty quickly she* earned the nickname Dusty.

My second car was a black 2014 Subaru WRX hatchback. Her name was Dusty Too.

I didn't know which color Mach-E I was going to get, but I knew we were going to call it Dust-E regardless. It was further stylized Dust-E³ though I don't like it when people say "Dust-E cubed"... "Dust-E to the 3rd power" would be preferred, but that's ridiculous to say and honestly it doesn't really matter... I have never and would never correct anyone about it.

also also, before I bought one I didn't lean into the Mustang name but since my registration says Mustang and my car is insured as a Mustang, I've decided to embrace that. It's a Mustang.

*oh almost forgot to mention my observations on gendering cars. I've observed that men generally refer to their cars as female, while women generally refer to them as male. no point to make, just thought it was interesting. I identify as male.

“Mach-e” is too awkward to say. Kids call it a “Pony Car.” I feel like if I call it a Mustang, my uncle Joey is gonna drive straight from Wisconsin to kick my ass
Referred to affectionately in the family simply as “The ‘Stang” even by 5 year-old granddaughter & 8 year-old grandson?

In a general context “Mach e”. My specific car we call “Mr. Orange.” (A la Tim Roth in Reservoir Dogs.)

My son didn’t want to give up my old STI “Blueberry”. So we had to also name the car Blueberry II. As such, Mr.Orange’s full name is “Blueberry Strawberry Orange”.
