I believe it's in reference to this: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a40543385/north-carolina-wants-remove-free-public-ev-chargers/

To be fair it's just a bill at this point, I don't think it's been voted on yet. I'm not in NC so I don't have any insight into whether or not something like this has a serious shot at becoming law.
Ok, so NC does not plan to "destroy all EV stations". There are just some politicians who think free charging provided by the government isn't fair to ICE owners, and I happen to agree with that.

In fact, I agree with @Logal727 - free charging is one of the problems. If the chargers at my office required payment, there wouldn't be multiple cars sitting there not charging all day. It is really annoying. Beyond annoying, actually. It makes me angry.

Considering that I charge at home and only use these >100mi from home on trips, I'm ok with these rates... for chargers that actually work.

for me, EVs don't have to be cheaper than ICE on road trips. The chargers just have to be plentiful and WORK.
I feel the same way. I’ll pay the premium on road trips because it’s a few times per year vs daily home charging.

The fact that he has a Plaid and Rivian and kept his Model 3 Performance... that's a man rolling in money :)
And perhaps able to list many things EV related as a business expense...

I use an FPL charger in Daytona every now and then, they are nice, but I can't seem to get it to give full power, usually maxes out at 89kw
I was getting a range in the low 130 to low 140s till 80% and afterward still got in the upper 60s for 5% more. This was at a 350Kw station.

Yeah, I may not be using a 350 one, you can't really tell which is which at this station.

Ford Mustang Mach-E DCFC in America - it’s falling apart Broken EA Charger Aug 2022

This is the charger on Bowles & C-470 in the Walmart Parking lot in Littleton, CO. I reported this to them on 8/7 and as of yesterday 8/21 it was still broken. Reputation, revenue and trust all eroding.

Oh his dad whining he can't pick between which $100k car he's gonna get next and the complaining he might have to charge at a 150kw instead of 350kw EA station, cry me a river
I don't begrudge the stupid rich... but the complete lack of self awareness from Kyles family is off putting.

Kyle did call him out about "First world problems" when his dad was also complaining how he couldn't charge BOTH of his Id.4s at the same time lol

Many families have two cars so perhaps the trend will go to EV for around town and ICE for travel.
That's pretty much what I have done since I purchased my Mach E on day 1. I have taken it to my older daughter's house about an hour and a half away and in the winter a 100% charge won't allow a round trip like the warmer seasons will. That is the only time I have used an EA DCFC to get home. The rest of the time it's L2 Grizzl-E in my garage. We take our ICE vehicle on long trips.

Agreed. If the MME was my only vehicle, then I would just rent an ICE for the occasional road trip and not worry about it. If my road trip requires more than 1 DCFC to get to my destination then I start to second guess taking the BEV anyway.
