I haven’t even received my 2022 yet. Already thinking about a 2023. How sick is that?

Massively sick, I'd say! I'm days to weeks away from getting my 2022 and I am looking forward to two things:
1) The car;
2) Not having to talk to the sales department of a Ford dealership ever again.

Maybe you got lucky with your dealer, in which case make sure to send them some cookies for Christmas or something because you've struck gold. The wait wasn't terrible, given the camaraderie of this forum, but the dealership was beyond aggravating.

Would I order a car with a 10+ month lead time in the future? Sure. There are exactly three Ford dealerships on this island, and while I went with the one that had the best reviews and the best local opinion, it gets an unsatisfactory rating from me. Ford is supposedly looking into a direct sales model, and unless they either get that model into play or create more EVs that are worlds better than anything else out there, this is going to be my last Ford. And looking at what's coming up in the future, if I were ordering a year or two from now, I'm not sure that the Mach-E would represent the most appealing vehicle, either.

I'm planning on ordering a 2023. However, until Ford announces the details for the 2023 there is some uncertainty. Price is one. The degree to which different battery packages may or may not qualify for 1/2 or all of the new EV tax credit. The Korean SK Innovation batteries manufactured in Georgia should qualify. However, this year (I read somewhere.) they are going to F-150 Lightnings. The newly announced LFP batteries will not. They are manufactured and sourced from China.

I have found a dealer nearby (from the list posted elsewhere on this forum) that does not charge a huge markup. The sales rep that I have emailed back and forth with (thus in writing), indicates that they also will knock off a few more dollars with an X-plan pin. My son-in-law's grandfather is retired from Ford. Also, I just bought 100 shares of Ford stock, which in 6 months will allow me to get a pin on that basis. (Edit: Ford stopped the X-plan for shareholders on June 1, 2023, as was brought to my attention by generaltso and theothersawyer.)

The Inflation Reduction Act has certainly added uncertainty. However, under the old EV $7,500 tax credit the 2023 Mach-e would not have qualified as Ford will exceed 200,000 EV sales soon.

Not sure where all of them are hiding. Just went from Boston to the OBX and saw none except for a few at the two DCFC we stopped at and none at the EVGo charger (hesitate to call that a ‘fast’ charger). Trip report coming soon

I'm planning on ordering a Premium ER RWD (assuming the price increase isn't ridiculous....)

Unfortunately Ford ended X-Plan for shareholders.

I am planning on it but waiting to see pricing/specs to see if anything has changed that would give me pause. If I do not order a Mach-E I will be looking at a PHEV. Besides the Lightning there are no other EV's available that I am seriously interested in.

I’ve got a placeholder order in with my local dealer (Fair Oaks Ford), essentially a $500 deposit down to be their first 2023 order. Signed paperwork on a similarly config’d 2022 stating MSRP pricing (plus any 2023 MSRP price increases). Subsequently they agreed to honor X-Plan pricing.

Once the order banks open I just need to go in to confirm any changes and the order will go in. Planning on a Rapid Red Premium eAWD.

We’ve also got an order in with VW for a ’23 ID.4 which will be the wife’s car. Incidentally we had ordered a Subaru Solterra in May that was supposed to deliver this month, but canceled that order two weeks ago in favor of the ID.4 since Subaru (nor Toyota) can figure out how to keep the wheels from falling off while driving.

Unfortunately that is true. I checked; It ended June 1, 2022. Well I still have my son-in-law's grandfather. He has said he would get me a pin. Still, Ford stock seems like a good investment.

Do we even know what is different about the 2023 yet, beyond one of the blue paint colors changing?
The only things I think we know with absolute certainty is there will be the new Vapor Blue color, and the Nite Pony Appearance package option. There is new battery technology coming, but we don't really know which trims will get that or if it will happen immediately with the new model year or sometime later in the production cycle.

Carbonized Gray is also back.
