I've thought about just not taking delivery of my 22 at this point. The car's been at the ramp for over a month 300 miles away from the dealership. I have a feeling 23's will be delivered before I get mine in :(.

Why? It seems odd to not take delivery of a car that still qualifies for the tax credit and is worth more on the used market than MSRP.

It really depends on whether or not I can find one on a lot that matches the specs of my order (AWD + Extended range). The only ones that seem to match nearby are the cyber orange gt (not my fav color) and a sick-looking black GT, but that's like 11k more than my ordered CR1 :(.

Going through the experience of ordering a car through Ford, I don't think I'll ever be doing this again. Communication from ford to dealer and ford to end customer has been really bad.

If it were me, I'd take delivery regardless.

I have a place holder order, and my dealer still thinks this afternoon... might reserve not sure anymore. Price increase is too much for what you're getting. I already had an order for a ID.4 which was moved to a 2023. They only reason I wasn't going to take that is my wife ended up getting a 2022 ID.4 and we didn't want to own to of the same. It's a great car I like the Mach-E a bit more. Top model 2023 ID.4 XR AWD is $10,440 less than the similar Mach-E Premium XR AWD, assuming the Mach-E gets the tax credit, without it for sure a no go for sure. I prefer the Mach-E but I don't think it's $10k better, and for sure isn't $18k better.

I'm in the same boat. My dealer called around the 8th, said the order bank was opening on the 15th. I went, gave a $500 deposit, he texted me every day saying the bank should open up soon. I texted him today with the info from the order guide and the prices and asked him to confirm. Now that I've seen the article about the tax credit and the info here about no x plan pricing, I'm out. I wish I ordered in the spring.

As long as the deposit is refundable I might still finalize the reservation while the tax issues works out and give myself time to think. My dealer called about an hour ago and said they have not opened yet, but they are still saying it's today and it's not normal for a long delay between order guide and order banks. The Maverick, Ranger, and 23 F150 Lightning was all very close together.

Option 1, I have the ID.4 on order already and I should hopefully get that fairly early in MY23. MY23 only went up about$2k, got a premium sound system, parking assist, 360 camera, lane change assist, heated rear seats, and both a range and charging speed boost. Not thrilled with the new color choices.

Option 2, Mach-E, unknowns what has been added or removed fully yet.

Option 3, EV6, awesome cockpit, nice tech, charging monster.

I've driven the 22 model year of all 3. I like the style of MME the best, and I like Bluecuise. EV6 is an awesome car, you just can't get it anywhere near MSRP, but that's changing because it lost the tax credit. ID.4 has been great for my wife and the ride is honestly better than the MME. I just don't like the idea of owning two of the same car. With the new features for the 23 ID.4 the tech gap to the MME is not very much and it surpasses it in some minor areas. Just don't I justify the 10k price difference.

You're making my head hurt ? I might go look at the EV6 this weekend. There's one at a dealership near me. It just doesn't have the attitude the mach-e has and, as someone who has owned Hondas for the last 30 years (minus one Volvo) I LOVED the attitude of the Mach-e.

I don't think you're wrong to place the order, as long as they'll refund my deposit (they said yes but I want it in writing) and see how the tax issue works out. I was prepared for the price increase because it would make sense to Ford for them to pocket the 6-8K a car knowing that most people would get a tax rebate which would make it pretty much a wash. But without the rebate it's just too much of a jump.

Thanks for the reviews. I'm new to the EV market, as you can probably tell.

I just made an appointment with my dealer to head down tomorrow and place an order for a GT. He claims that the order banks for MY23 are open so I guess we will see.

This is the same guy/dealer that I ordered my Maverick from and I had a great experience so I expect this to go the same way. Lets hope that lighting can strike the same place twice! haha

I haven’t even received my 2022 yet. Already thinking about a 2023. How sick is that?
I was going to trade in my 2021 premium rear wheel drive extended battery for the same in a 2023 because given last year's prices or if 2023 went up just a little bit, I could have actually upgraded it to the newer model for little or no money afterthe $7500 tax rebate. But it's ridiculous now that it's gone up over 20%

I am going to order one, once it gets closer to delivery I will probably decide if I will take delivery on it. Since its probably 6 months to get it you gotta order way in advance.

I'm good at doing that to people. You can also add the Hyundai Ioniq 5, it's the sister car to the KIA EV6. The Ioniq 5 has an...interesting....look. It's really love or hate on that car. I don't like it that much but a lot of people really love the futuristic look.
