To use the rubber plug to plug a puncture it would be a whole lot easier with the tire off ground but MME does have any jack. That got me thinking of getting one.
That's the other concern I had. Finding the puncture to try to plug if the goop inflator isn't adequate. Gotta search, inch forward, search again, then hope you have room to work the tools. But guess I'll see when the time comes!

Plugging a tire on the car without a jack is ok. I’ve done it twice on the caddy.

off the car is better but not needed.

The hard part is to look through every square inch of the flat tire for the nail and then pull it out, while the tire lies deep down on the ground, but I guess you can still roll the car inch by inch until you find the nail.

Perfectly correct, but a can of sealant probably won’t get to a sidewall since the sealant relies on gravity to work it into the puncture and the likelihood of a sidewall puncture getting full coverage isn’t great since it’s not on the tread. ??
You are correct! I missed that it was a sidewall.

Rotated tires on my car and all wheels were torqued at 100 ft-lbs from factory
Per the manual they should be 204Nm which is about 150 ft-lbs.

It seemed high to me so I had to look it up.

Sidewalls should never be plugged and usually can’t be patched. Most tire repair shops won’t accept liability by repairing. Doing the repair yourself doesn’t make it safe.
Oh,
yea sidewall cant be done, I was just saying in the future for all other nonsidewall punctures or blowouts.

Yeah,
I thought about getting a jack as well, I just rolled the car and angled until I could get enough force on it from the ground.

Once you put the goo in the tire, is the tire still good even if it gets you to a shop to plug?

Tire is still good. Discussing with the shop afterwards, the key is to go to the shop that day or the next and they can wipe the goo right up with soapy water.

The issue is people think a "fix-a-flat" solves the problem and will drive for a month or so before coming in. Product is not designed for that.

I carry a plug kit, and it's saved me already! I caught a big screw in one of my rear tires. I didn't even need to take the tire off of the car to fix it.
I carry a plug kit along with a modernspare.com when we're on trips. Worth the peace of mind.

It’s never easy to see your car being towed away. Especially when it’s for a stupid reason like a simple flat tire. I know a lot of new vehicles don’t have spare tires these days (I’ve owned a couple that don’t) and it’s always a pain when this happens.

There is a company that makes spares for the Mach E. A few on this forum have purchased these. They're quite expensive, but the cost is most definitely worth it if it can help avoid a tow.

Still trying to plan for the worst here on this vehicle since all my others have jacks and spares. This is a new area for me.

I remember when working with the dealer, he mentioned that America's Tire (or Discount Tire in other markets) would sell an extended warranty on these tires because they carry the tire. The road hazard warranty gets you free replacement if it cannot be patched. It paid off for me on my travel trailer so I was considering it on this vehicle.

My biggest fear is not being able to seal or plug it adequately to get to a tire shop. In that event, it has to be towed anyway. But I'd MUCH rather seal or plug it myself and get to the tire shop for real repair. I asked on the phone if using the seal or plug would void the warranty and he said the seal? No, they wipe it clean and patch it. But the plug would void it. Ugh. So that means I better do a perfect plug job myself, and just skip the warranty entirely. Something to consider...
