This is exactly why I think dealerships will now have a hard time marking up these cars. Nobody will pay a mark up on top of outrageous pricing.Wow I was looking forward to pre ordering a Mach e but the price increases are ridiculous. A premium with extended battery will cost me 70k… no thanks what a ripoff
This just means that Bolts will be more sought after. With all these price increases, no way the bolt stays that cheap.Wowzers. So we ordered in November 2021 and our Premium ER AWD with interior protection package and the cyber orange option, both added costs, came out to $57k before A-Plan. Now a 2023 Premium SR AWD without interior protection or a color up charge are that much.
Makes me even more torn on Options vs straight up just financing the thing. I know both allow eventual buy out, and I haven't heard back yet what options incentives will be available to us (if any) to push it over the edge. But owning this at a pretty good price, it seems, might be worth it. Especially since no surprise changes came for 2023 that would make them more valuable in the used market over our 2022.
I get that Ford needs more margin, but prices really need to be going the other way on all EVs like GM is doing with the Bolt. Then again, maybe for now this is good until the public charger infrastructure gets their act together...
Yep, same situation on ours.Wow: a huge price increase. It seems I lucked out with the timing, even though it took 9 months from order to delivery.
Thanks to price protection, I paid the 2021 MSRP price for my 2022 premium eAWD extended range. Add to that the loss of the tax break under the new rules. That makes buying the same MME over $18K more expensive now at MSRP.
That is a whopping 33% increase in less than a year.
Ford also dropped the ice white package, adding a little additional rarity value to my MME.
I was so excited to be honest. First the mark up was 5k to 43k for base now another massive markup where the second lowest trim with an extended battery costs more than a GT did. With the inflation bill we’re out of luck with the tax credit too. I feel like a sucker for waiting so long to only hear about it now. Paying 70k for a mid package ford is an L.This is exactly why I think dealerships will now have a hard time marking up these cars. Nobody will pay a mark up on top of outrageous pricing.
Yeah, I still don't know how GM can afford to make that move. They did it with full knowledge of the chip shortage and supply chain issues and "inflation" and that. It's not like an announcement they made over a year ago or something. This just means that Bolts will be more sought after. With all these price increases, no way the bolt stays that cheap.
Didn’t they offer a $1,500 incentive last year? They’ll probably do that again this year.I'm not paying an extra $8k for an order I signed on for in early Feb. There are a lot better vehicles at this price point. Ford has failed big time. Especially if they do not horn original price. Lawsuits are coming. that's totally breach of contract. What are they going to offer, free mud flaps with their $8k price hike?
Has yours been converted to a '23? Ford has price protection on vehicle orders. My November 2021 order is being honored at the original agreed price. Your dealer could play games, but Ford should honor the price.Didn’t they offer a $1,500 incentive last year? They’ll probably do that again this year.
We've got a 2023 VW ID4 on order to go along with our Mach-E. Seems much more reasonably priced now. ?This just means that Bolts will be more sought after. With all these price increases, no way the bolt stays that cheap.
But EVs are all the rage right now. And if Tesla can get those prices, I guess ford thinks they can too. EVs play by different rules. I agree that those cars you listed are more luxurious, but there’s something about driving an EV right now that trumps those shortcomings. Maybe it’s the instant torque, or gas savings, or convenience of not having to go to the pump, or pride of ownership that you’re an early adopter and no longer reliant on gas? Who knows, but people are willing to pay these prices to drive an EV. Hyundai is charging 60k for an EV. Great EV, sure, but it’s still a Hyundai. The price increase is a real bummer. A typical premium AWD SR will be around 60K. Even if 7500 tax credit remains. It is still in the same price bracket as the luxury compact SUV segment. Can it really compete with BMW X3, Audi Q5, MB GLC or Genesis GV70?
