It is a new recall that was issued on Friday 15th. If I understood my dealer correctly the first bit was to remedy an OTA issue which was apparently causing the reverse warning sounder to activate during/after an update. I think the second was to fix an issue with the the first that caused the frunk light to illuminate and stay on giving a warning on the drivers display. When did you have the first 2 done? Unless it was recently they should have been removed if they have been done. It does take a few weeks for Ford's systems to update themselves but there has been reports of dealers telling customers that they have done these FSA's but haven't completed them. I would check with your dealer/Ford CRC

21P22 was done around June and 22S41 was done early August. I will speak with Evan Halshaw about it later today - they currently have the car.
Thanks

I’ll check 22P25 when I get back from Canada tomorrow.

From the description it may well be the fix for the issue that stopped the OTA rollout of the HVBJB software update here in the UK.

I’ve been disconnected from FDRS for far too long - i’m getting withdrawal symptoms ?

Yes, I have 22P25 listed as well. By the way I received an official Ford survey which asked me my likes/dislikes about the MME. In dislikes I listed the usual suspects including interior trim quality not up to scratch ;) bouncy ride, too many recalls and fragmented uninformative OTA software updates.

Hi Tony

Hope I haven't misinterpreted anything but once this update is applied can we look forward to a flood of OTA updates to bring us into line with the U.S. do you think? :)

I think it is EU and UK legislation or specifics that dictate what features our cars have. So I wouldn't expect to be brought in line with the US, just ability to have more updates via OTA rather than at the garage

What the fudge is the FTRM module? That's not even listed as a module in FDRS.

FTRM is *not* an updateable module in FDRS. It isn't even listed as a module on my MME.
I am only quoting what it says FTRM is on the bulletin that @Wonky_Donkey posted in #6 above which he got from Ford. I know this because I have seen the same bulletin at my dealer. Also dealers ( well mine at least) aren't using FDRS for the MME. They are using a different diagnostic system. It also states that after this update OTA events will be able to occur.

Although it didn’t mention it directly this update is to make it so that a couple of the modules on UK cars can get OTA’s where they couldn’t before (at lest not without setting the alarm off LOL)

This is why we had to take our cars to the dealership for the HVBJB fix, as they couldn’t issue it OTA here in the UK like they could in other territories.

So the short answer is no, it won’t open up a whole barrage of new updates and functionality unfortunately, but it should mean less trips to the dealer in future :)

I think whoever wrote the bulletin had been at the sherry ?

I was going to check to see if my 2022 has a mysterious FTRM in FDRS but I saw a new APIM update pop up and I’ve started the download and install of that. Little did I realise that it’s a 15Gb update that has downloaded and is now copying to USB.

So by the time it’s copied it from the Ford servers to the Laptop to the USB stick to the car and then installed it that 15Gb will have been moved four times. That will take forever ?

The FTRM is also called the GFM (generic function module), at least in the USA. GFM shows up in FDRS.
