You could have just bought a second PL2320, that’s what I run while updating. Dual PL2320’s get the job done and cost a lot less than a PL6100.
Well honestly that never occurred to me that two of them in parallel would work like that. But it's all good and I'm glad that works for you. What?!? Genius! I might as well do this since I currently do nothing since one doesn’t really do anything for the updates the actually need it lol. You'll need to download the FDRS and VCI software. Then you buy the license and put that code in. I thought there was a thread on this somewhere?Do i download FDRS only and then buy the license? or do I need Step 2-4 as well?

You don’t actually need the VCI software if you use the Mongoose. But you do need to install the Mongoose driver.
I understand what you're saying, and somebody else told me that before, but then couldn't get FDRS to recognize the Mongoose until he had installed VCI.
Yeah, it'll add VCI adapters as options in FDRS, but it won't hurt anything. The Mongoose driver will still need to be installed either way.
It doesn't matter. They both seem to operate at the same speed, so the car is probably USB 3.0 on both of them. Depending on the drive and your computer, it may be faster to use USB-C when writing to the drive though.
GFM is 4 minutes, and the BCM is 6.
