EVGo autocharge + (now in the ford plug and play network)...registers, but doesn't work.

I was able to complete the EVGo autocharge + ford app plug and charge service with the app today. It registered, sent an email etc. Now I cannot charge at any new or old EVGo stations. EVGo blames the car. I'm heading out to try EVGo chargers #6 and 7 tonight to see if anything changes, so far no dice. EVGo will not work with my car. (I have all current updates, I have zero issues with home charging, or EA DC fast chargers). Customer service was prompt and completely unhelpful.

I was able to complete the EVGO autocharge + plug & charge for my Mach E last week, and it charged flawlessly. So I guess I am good to go, but I won't know until I try a different EVGO charger. However, I feel your pain about their customer service. It is a joke! They screwed up my account a year ago, and it still was messed up last week, but I was still able to get plug and charge registered. Go figure!

EA and EVGo fight it out for the "worst customer service" award. And the winner is?

There’s no plug and charge for EVGO in the ford app, you just have to register for it through the EVGO app. Have you got the OTA update that fixes a bug with DC charging? It’s rolling out and supposed to fix some EVGO issues

Yes, we all know this. This is why its called autocharge+. It is (in theory) a new plug and charge compatible service through the Ford network, as mentioned it registers upon the first session you initiate after enrolling through the EVGo App.

I have all of the OTA updates except for the youtube release.

It has nothing to do with the Ford network. If it did it would bill you through your Ford account like EA plug and charge.

They would fight to a low effort anticlimactic tie and then chalk it up to not knowing the overtime rules. ?

They actually have this set up. So yes, it is part of the Ford Plug and Charge network now and the app. The locations appear just like the EA stations. They just started the rollout last month. It was announced in May 2021. They activated it September 2022. So yes it does, and yes it will work just like EA does with the Ford App.

There is another thread on the Forum about this.

Is EVgo part of the Ford charging network?

Ford has signed up a number of charging networks to be part of its well-named FordPass Charging Network. ChargePoint, EVGO and Electrify America (EA) are all on-board, but it's that last one that has the killer app.( May 13, 2021)

Not to belabor the point, but I think you are conflating two related things. EVgo HAS been part of Ford's "blue oval charging network" for some time, but in order to use your Ford account to pay for EVgo charge sessions you needed to initiate the charging in the Fordpass app. Setting up this new feature requires creating an account directly with EVgo and using EVgo's app to configure and enable P&C. It means the company that charges you for the EVgo P&C sessions is EVgo, not Ford.

In other words: you need to have 2 active accounts to use P&C: 1 with Ford to pay for EA sessions, and 1 with EVgo to pay for EVgo sessions.

Yeah, that’s what I was trying to convey to him lol

I did it and was able to successfully enroll, but it was frustrating as hell. It could have been the particular evGo cabinet I was dealing with..
