Yesterday I was at the outlet mall in Woodburn Oregon. I parked and started charging at an EA station. We went on our merry way. Come back the only open spot was taken by a Tesla Model S, and it was not charging. This is how they get a bad name.

Next steps would be implementing CCS in their charging stations and a model by model changeover of charging receptacles on their cars. They are probably 4-7 years from completion, depending on their refresh cycle. ??
I think they'll upgrade their whole charging network to include CCS connectors (no small task) before changing the cars. Otherwise, they run into the problem of Tesla owners with a CCS car not being able to use parts of the Supercharger network. Considering their charging network is one of their brand strengths, I can't see Tesla allowing that.

If gas stations were smart, they'd find a way to start installing chargers. Especially the big chain ones that have convenience stores attached to them like Circle K, Wawa, Sheets, etc. This way, they're ahead of the curve.
Wawa and Sheets do offer charging station capabilities. The problem is with the local utility providers. The utilities have to built a network for high demand electricity. There are demand fees that they charge the stations but I don't know if it is on a monthly basis when you draw the electricity or for all the time irregardless of usage.
Demand fees are expensive. That is why they stick with 50KW service.
I have mentioned in this forum that Myrtle Beach SC is an EV Charging dessert. Other than the Tesla Supercharger, there is nothing else other than Level 2 charging. The problem there is the local utility. They are not interested.
I have been talking to a local state representative who owns a Mach E, so he can drive to the capital of Columbia, which have installed chargers at the Capitol grounds. He knows it is costing him almost very little to run back and forth to his district. When I approached him with the problem that his district doesn't have a CCS stations, he acknowledged the shortcomings.
The local utility is not bothering with any of it.
Also is a state run entity. They can't keep up with demand from the ongoing development.
Let us see what the Infrastructure Bill will do.

I ran into this yesterday. The Tesla owners were super friendly and after seeing my MME inside and out wanted to order one to replace their other Tesla! I’ll take them over the dealership in Bozeman that has Bozeman’s only DC charger (supposed to be public) that leaves their courtesy Etron plugged in overnight and on Sundays, leaving no DC charger in Bozeman. So Rude!!!

That’s what I was alluding to I also can’t see them changing the ports on the cars without a model refresh since they have an L3 adaptor. ?‍♂?

They sell adapters from CCS to Tesla, why wouldn't they do the smart thing and sell adapters Tesla to CCS?

Yes they do. Only for Level 2 application.

now, but if they didn't want to retrofit their entire charging network..
If they take the money from the Infrastructure Bill, then they have to retrofit their chargers with (1) one CCS cable. Every station has (2) two cables. One cable is retrofitted with CCS receptacle. They, Tesla, are not going to do it for every Supercharging station. Few at the time.

A nice benefit of a local Tesla SC location is a new charging location in the city of Ontario, CA at the city hall parking lot:

Free L2 Tesla destination chargers w/ 10kW L2 chargers.

That was a nice surprise to see 6 decent L2 chargers that were free - my Lightning sticking out on the far end charging.

Superchargers costs $ but always full of Teslas - 8 stations:

Voltage isn't really your problem so much as current. You can but a 240V transformer but then you'd need about 60 amps of current at 120V. To get the mobile 28amp charger working.

If your service is 100amps then it's possible but you might have to live without AC or using the dryer when charging.

They did it in Europe.

As I said, I live in a townhouse. can't upgrade because I don't own it.
So as a tenant the landlord should let you upgrade as when you move a 14-50 plug is a renter draw. Especially if the renter is paying the electric bill. Win, Win

Because the Tesla Supercharger network in the U.S. cannot communicate with a non-Tesla car. Even if you could physically connect, the charger would not be able to detect the car and manage the charging process.

So I did a check-in with all the Buc-ees and a lot of them now have Tesla superchargers. What a crock, it's like having a gas pump that only works with one brand of car. I'm sure Buc-ees made a ton of money on this, but why couldn't they have added any CCS? And of course CCS is never gonna come to Tesla superchargers, what a wasted opportunity for people who don't wanna own a Tesla
