Steeda Front Sway Bar! It is awesome. Transforms the car into what it should be.

Your reciprocating blade saw will work fine. The metal isn't that hard. Get a metal cutting blade and go to town. ??
Willing to try. But grinder will come in handy more than this once!

I used the grinder on mine because I didn’t want to remove the already installed bar. Since then I’ve used my Sawzall with a 14 TPI metal blade on a few other bars and it cut much faster than the grinder. No sparks like the grinder either. Like Steve said, the metal is not that hard.

When I cut mine I used my Sawzall with a metal cutting blade and it went through pretty much like butter. Very fast, very easy. I then used a belt sander with an 80 grit belt and rounded the ends. I was quite pleased with the results.

Like butter? Crap! I wish I had tried my Sawzall. I just assumed the grinder would be faster. The grinder did NOT go through it like butter. And like Mark said - lots of sparks.

Just came across this as I am going to get my Front and rear sways put on Wednesday at a shop. I am pretty handy but don't have the equipment to install sway bars or cut the bars at home - I think. I don't have a grinder and have a battery powered sawzall, some clamps..

Out of town for work and I don't get home till tomorrow night so I am gonna have to figure out how to mod the front bar pretty fast..
Used a sawzall type battery powered reciprocating saw with a numeral blade. Cuts through it like butter. You’ll have no problem with that.

LOL. I wanted to use my reciprocating saw, but it wouldn’t fit. Die grinder with a cutoff wheel fit and cut much quicker than my angle grinder. Saw would have been faster and no sparks. ??

My vibrating MultiMax did the job in a jiffy while the sway bar was already on.

Yep, saw. ?? Unfortunately I don’t have one. An oscillating tool would have been a better choice than the die grinder. Pneumatic tools are so loud. ??

But the sparks are fun! ?

I called the shop and they said they have the tools to take care of it.. so no grinder. Battery powered sawz I got but I think I wore through last blade I used. Anyway would rather get the hardware in than waiting for my amateur shopwork! Thanks for everyones input!

Wow, I can’t type at all in the morning ?? I meant a bi-metal blade not numeral blade.

Huh, oily rag? I had cardboard jammed into the wheel well and the control arm. No issues with fire. Some stinky smouldering, sure. No fire. ?‍♂?

Not oily. I thought I should protect parts of the car and it was taking the brunt of the spark blast. After that I switched to tin foil.
