Repeatable every time:

1. Press the park button
2. Try to select camera on the display
3. Touch is registered but nothing happens, display stays on the Find Parking screen

Does anyone else have this issue? Is this normal? The camera access functionality remains broken, closing and re-opening the vehicle controls drawer does not fix it. Only if I put it in to reverse and turn the camera on that way will it get unlocked again.

Very strange.

Are you referring to the active park assist park button? or are you turning the shifter to park?

If you hit the car icon in the top left then hit the camera button does it work? Sometimes there is a delay between hitting it and it actually working. Note you must be moving quite slow or be stopped to access the camera.

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your Mach-E concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.

Well the car does not have active park assist, so to me it is just the "Bring-up-the-find-parking-screen button". I am not referring to shifting the car into park.

No, after pressing the parking button pressing the car icon in the top-left twice (to close and reopen the controls screen), camera still will not turn on. Edit: I do not try to operate this while moving, I am completely stopped (foot on the break with the car still in drive).

Sure.

Don't press the parking button first. If you just hit the icon in the top left one time then tap camera does it work? Could you possibly take a video of this issue displaying the full status of the vehicle (ON, accessory, gear, speed, etc).

Yes, the camera works then so long as I remember to press the button on the screen and not press the parking button. Turning the car off and on seems to reset the fault.

I'll try to get a video.

You have to be going less than 5 MPH before the camera button will work.

If your car doesn’t have park assist, why are you pressing the button for it?

I do agree, that pressing the park button, would be a great way to quickly bring up the camera. But that unfortunately is not how it works. You have to wait and go into the laggy screen.

No need for a video. Just do it with the touchscreen. It is obviously something they didn't think of, maybe they'll add/fix that in the future.

Just to emphasize, I was not saying in this thread "It would be great if the parking button brought up the parking camera/could be configured to do so" (something I whole-heartedly agree with). What I was asking was: is it normal for pressing this button to completely block subsequent access to the parking camera via the touch screen, until the parking camera is turned on in some other way or the car is shut off? Is this the way the car works for others?

If your car doesn’t have park assist, why are you pressing the button for it?
Because I find it a more convenient method to bring up the controls screen than trying to hit the small touch target on the display. Also this was the first thing I tried to do to bring up the parking camera when I got the car, which is how I noticed this.

Yes it would be great to have that parking button configurable, would make a lot more sense to have it bring up camera and not the parking map. But again that wasn't what I was asking about in this thread. This goes beyond just "something they didn't think of", something seems broken if using one feature breaks another.

OP is right. Looks like a bug.. I just verified on my 22 GT with Advance Park prep ( advanced park assist removal)

If you press the active park assist button, then try hitting the camera button, it locks out the camera function totally, until you go into reverse. You can't even back out of the park screen then go in the regular way.
But, if you press the park button and DONT try to hit the camera button, then the camera will still function AFTER you back out of park screen then select camera normally

But yeah, just hit the car icon rather than park assist button

Just tested, camera button after parking button works on mine. I have parking sensors though.
