Just got home and saw this. Heard last night they may be released today. Certainly disappointing, although not entirely surprised. Seems to validate most of those screenshots we've been seeing lately of the dash range and battery%. Looking like that wasn't just highway driving as was often explained away as.

Doesnt mean its the final number though If they can improve via OT A those numbers can still change before OKTB at which point they would have no choice but to give the final EPA numbers.

Wtf just saw this thread via inside EVs and can't help but laugh it's full of misinformation and faulty assumptions lmao. Ford replied to the inside EVs article as well. See below:

Also I know for a fact the EPA estimates will be met with a lot of extra buffer to even increase it via OTA.

"UPDATE: Ford has responded to this post with a statement that reads as follows.
"We fully expect EPA-certified driving range estimates for the Mustang Mach-E will deliver the targets we have set. We will have more to share later this month."

My bet is those aren’t even the final or best test results. We will find out soon enough anyway.

Whether the range is 300 miles or 270 miles or 250 miles won't have any effect on suitability for road trips. At this point the stops will be dictated by the DC chargers. If the distance between chargers is 175 miles it doesn't matter if your range is 220 miles or 250 miles or 300 miles. Unless your range is 400 - 500 miles you're stopping at 175 miles! LOL

And once you stop, the time it takes to be ready for the next 175 miles depends entirely on the efficiency -- how many miles/kWh the vehicle gets -- and how long it takes to get 175 more miles of range -- kWh/time. More range might give you a false sense of security but other than that range isn't that important.
I have no idea what he wrote since I've blocked him but anyone thinking they really drive 4-5 hours between charging stops is probably full of s**t (and p**s).

Can someone explain to a non-US member of this forum (me for example :) ) what this reports mean?

are the reports calculated on a 88kw battery(in Europe we speak about 99kw)?

On a more real world note, for ICE cars you can find people reporting fuel-ups and actual mileage on fuelly.com

Is there a similar site for community-driven fuel-ups (power-ups? Recharges?) and actual mileage?

Fwiw, I prefer kWh/100km. It's easier to compare efficiency with ICE cars (L/100km).

It means nothing until the official results are published by Ford and the EPA. Unnecessary panic! Regardless of what is published, range is going to be impacted by numerous items that aren't tested. Some may hit. Some may not. As long as the baseline gets to the targeted number or within what each individual considers to be an acceptable variance, all will be fine.

11 pages and having now read them all, allow me to summarize: "This document at the EPA from like forever ago gave a number and if you do math you get another number and that number is too small but the document isn't actually the real document or even really meaningful in real life."

So many words for, well, nothing.

Wow. Things are sure different in MA than they are in MD. We buy gas by the gallon ;)

Sure it does, if # of stops matters to them. Yes, it's possible the stops on a specific route could still be the same, depending on station placement. But it could also add 1 or 2 more stops. If the next 2 chargers are at 90 and 150 miles, we probably need to stop at the 90 one now at 75 MPH mid-trip. Cascading from there. And each additional stop has overhead time getting to/from chargers.

May not be a deal-breaker, but not insignificant either.
