@generaltso: I went back and looked at the IRS page; I clicked on the link for EVs purchased in 2022 and before and it only shows MY21 and MY22 MMEs. I guess maybe IRS didn't figure on any MY23s being delivered in 2022 lol.
I’m hoping they will get around to updating this list to include 2023 Fords purchased in 2022. Other manufacturers have MY23 vehicles listed. I don’t see any reason why we wouldn’t be eligible but I’d be a lot more comfortable to see 2023 MME on that list!

F150 is **OBJECTIVELY** a truck. It's not up for a sedan/SUV debate.
I turned mine into a truck by putting a small piece of tape sticking up proud of the rear bumper, it's a tiny bed, only an inch long, but it's now objectively a truck by the same metrics. F150 weight, check, bed, check. I win.

It doesn’t have to be on the list for it to qualify in 2022. It just needs to be built in North America.

This has zero to do with model year and EVERYTHING to do with the actual date of sale.

My 2022 base Select is a great car and was less than 49k out the door. I think that even the 2023 model year base model with modest optioning should be below 55k. Let's hope this will put pressure on dealers to stop aggressively upselling.

NOT A TAX PRO HERE... But... I say claim it anyways and let them argue it if it comes down in an audit. Hopefully they don't require a VIN or some sort of automated disqualifier. The sticker says it's a "Small SUV" in terms of EPA rating so that could be your argument. Talk to a tax PRO. The below is from my 2023 sticker.
If you claim it, you're simply committing tax fraud. Sure, you could argue you didn't know, and they might just charge you a penalty and interest. But, since you debated it on a forum where you setup your name as your user name, the trail is easy enough for a 5th grader to find...

I think you missed my point. If you make 150,000 in income as an individual in 2023, you may be eligible for the EV Tax Credit. If you make 150,001 in income as an individual in 2023, you will not be eligible. That was the full and complete extent of my comment.
on this one at least, the IRS says:

You can use your modified AGI from the year you take delivery of the vehicle or the year before, whichever is less. If your modified AGI is below the threshold in 1 of the two years, you can claim the credit.
so there's a bit of a "soft landing" on the income though i agree that it should have been a phaseout vs. a hard cliff.

I believe it is based on MSRP not dealer price. So it shouldn't matter if there is ADM or not. As long as the price on the window sticker price before destination fees is below 55k.
